It's because they probably get sick of hearing it. When you see a good looking girl somewhere the first thing out of your mouth would be, 'wow! That girl is so hot!' She probably hears it so much that she doesn't want to hear it anymore.
Most of the time when you say a girl is hot; you don't really know her personality. You're just judging her on her body and her looks. So, you say she is hot. Once you get to know this person, you'll probably tend to tell her she is beautiful. Because you know her and you like her personality. Her looks and her personality are beautiful. So, that is why most girls tend to like the fraise 'you're beautiful' more. ♥

its not that we dont like it when guys call us hott, it just means more whenever they say beautiful or gorgeous! cute and pretty work too but usually when guys say it, it goes something like this "dude shes hott!" or "your like, really hott" its not that its not appreciated but if a guy were to say " i think your beautiful" it would make a girl feel special. its not a big deal but like one of my best friends is freaking gorgeous and the guys that usually call her "hott" just want to get in her pants, thats why it can be offensive. hope that cleared things up some!

I really have no problem with guys saying I'm hott but i guess some girls think it means they just want you for your body and not for your personality and they are just using you. some girls think that hot means, really nothing. Beautiful, gorgeous, pretty..ect. Are more "meaningful" or "powerful" words. Then just "Hot".

Some girls would rather be called beautiful. Or if they don't like the guy at all then they might freak out about it. I took it as a compliment when my boyfriend called me hot but I was happier when he said I was beautiful or something a little deeper.

Whenever guy's usually say the term "you're hot", yes, it can be considered a compliment, but girls take it as a way of their sexual appeal, and only their sexual appeal. Like, "i like your body" "i want to get together with you", etc. And that's not too complimenting to girls if a guy's basically telling you all he likes is your body. And especially if you have just met the guy and barely talked to him and all he says is "you're hot", that basically feels like he's just looking at your body if he hasn't even tried talking to you and getting to know you.
Girls just don't understand why guys can't be like,"you're pretty, you're cute, you're beautiful, you're gorgeous", etc. It's a much nicer way to compliment a girl, and it may or may not include the body, but girls know you're talking about their face and everything.
And yes, girls say guys are hot too, but I don't think guys really mind as much. Some might, but I don't know of any. But that's why girls also prefer to call guys "handsome", "attractive", "good looking", "cute", etc. since THEY don't like being called hot, they don't call guys it either.

Well, yeah it's a compliment, but some girls take it the wrong way. it basically seems like you're just looking at their body. it's pretty annoying. compliment them in some other way they;ll appreciate it more.

Sometimes girls will like that and take it as compliment(thats if they like you) but other girls (who dont like you) will just stick their nose in the air and ignore you because they think you're being too straight forward.I suggest you be their friend first,help them trough bad times,make them laugh that stuff.Most of the time their best guy friend will end up being the closest boyfriend to her. Plus you can also make her parents *cough cough...dad* like you more so when you ask her out they'll be overjoyed! Take my word for it, most girls think it's romantic when their best guy friend asks them out. I've had it done to me. Even though it takes time, it works!
