Dude is this legal?
Dude, alright i live in missouri and I went to a walgreens to purchase some condoms and i am 15. so i was at the check out and the lady said "i'm not going to sell these to you" and i said "uhm lady why not?" and she said "you are too young to be having sex and im not gunna sell these to you" then she put it in the bag to be put back on the shelf...so yah is that legal? (she lectured me for about a 1/2 hr on the subject so please dont lecture me as well

i think that is really wrong.
people are supposed to promote safe sex not turn you against it. it seems that if you are gonna have sex then you are gonna do it if she says so or not so she has no say in it. she should have been proud to see you practicing safe sex. but that is more than likely illegal you should check into it more.

There is no legal age limit on buying condoms so that lady's refusal to let you purchase them was unlawful. It's not her responsibility to keep random people abstinent. Stupid woman.

By not selling them to you she promotes the anti-safesex.
And 15-17 are the average ages of losing your virginity/having sex in general.

Well it's not technically illegal.
A retail store has the right to refuse service as long as it doesn't go against the Human Rights laws. You could argue that she discriminated against you because of your age, and although that is exactly true, it couldn't be held up in court, because age discrimination isn't a viable complaint when dealing with services that are generally available to public like retail services. The reason age discrimination doesn’t count in this situation was because if it did, stores might be forced to sell cigarettes to underage people, or not be allowed to offer a seniors discount. I know it sounds a little fishy, but trust me on this one; you’d never be able to hold this up in a legal forum as age discrimination. Even though that is what happened, it just doesn’t quite fit the legal definition.
HOWEVER! It is terrible business practice, and probably against company policy. So write the lady’s manager. What she did was very inappropriate, if no one under eighteen ever purchased condoms at that store again, they would take a serious hit. Write the manager and focus on how rude and insulting she was, and how you do not plan on patronizing their store again and will tell others about your awful experience. If you get no response from the manager of the store, write head office, call a customer complaint line. Unless they are trying to go out of business, they won’t be anymore impressed with that cashier then you were.

Well, as far as i know, she has no right to do that. I'm pretty sure that you that can even get condoms from the doctors clinic at that age. I think she was just giving you her personal opinion and therefore outstepping her limitations.
I mean, look at it this way, would an adult choose not to give you condoms and risk the fact that you might then go and have unprotected sex? You were doing the right thing, she wasn't. :)

technically it's all based on your state's jurisdiction on such. but in most states things like that are legally available to anyone with the money to purchase them as: A it keeps disease down. B it keeps teen pregnancy down. and C it helps to get more people to practise safe sex. now i don't know what the laws in missouri are but i know here in texas it's legal to buy them at just about any age as the state condones safe sex in the hopes of not having another underage family on welfare taking tax dollars. i think she was just being a bitch to you. but i also think you need to figure out the law in that state, and fuck take her to court and sue walgreens you could be a millionaire if you do that one. cause i think granted you're underage, you do have a case here.
