It would be probably be aroung 10-12 years of age ]
Whenever they are old and still impressionable enough to watch that stupid ass channel MTV and think that the shows on it are real life. ]
Every person is different and it depends largely on the environment to which a child lives, not only the parents but the other people who have an influence for example aunts uncles siblings etc.
The age that most children recognize looks and differences between themselves and others is 8-9 as this is the age that teasing starts to focus on looks.
By the way did the 3 yr. old have dysmorphia?? That is REALLY young!! Guess thats why she was on Oprah eh!
Hope this helps ]
First of all you should never be worried about your looks. Always be confortable in your own skin. Some girls get obsessed with their looks during their ( change ) becasue other girls advance faster. Dont worry about it you should just believe in your self. But if you really need a straight answer some girls start in thier teen age years but it varies. ]
I think 7th grade was when its a reallly big deal, for everyone. But, I started caring.. when I was like in 5th. Because thats when I started dating alot. =) ]
hehe i watched that too...i would say 11-12 but it usualy starts at puberty ]
i did at around 11/12 because i was pretty chubby and people made fun of me for it. <3 ]
I actually think it's when they start middle school. Well, for girls anyway, guys probably don't care until maybe 8th grade but I wouldn't know.
I remember when I stared middle school, all the older girls (7th and 8th graders) looked so much older and put together. I didn't wear make up in 6th grade and I still shopped at Limited Too so my clothes were all girly and kiddish. So all the 6th grade girls would look up to them and be like *they look so cool* and try acting like them. Like, compare their height and weight to the older girls and pay more attention to make up and clothes. ]
It usually happens when the person becomes a teenager, or when their hormones start acting up. They notice the opposite sex, and start to be concerned with how they look. I started to car when I was a teeanger, maybe 13 or 14. But I never was obsessed about it.
A three year old being obsessed...that's terrible. When I was three, I don't remember caring what I looked like. ]
