TRY OUT! you should never underestimate yourself! when trying out, you have to give yourself full confidence. you just have to try! Say it doesn`t work out; it`s not ment to be. =)
partygurl24 answered Sunday August 6 2006, 12:13 am: I definitely think that you should try out. I mean, you have tons of experience which will really benefit you. Yeah, your nervous about tryouts, I get that feeling sometimes, but I've realized if I don't suck it up and tryout I'll just regret it in the lond run. It will be totally awesome if you make the team because you're a great asset to them, but if you don't you don't have to worry because this gives you even more time to prepare for next year, and you will be even better. No matter what, practice, practice, PRACTICE, because even though it may sound cliche, practice makes perfect! Try out. I think that if dancing is your talent and you are dedicated and want to be on the team, then you should go for it, because you will regret it if you don't. You should go into tryouts with your head up knowing that you're a well-skilled and very good dancer, because when you have the right confidence, you're all set to do well, but if you're too nervouse it will show. Think positive thoughts, and maybe do something to calm you down before tryouts to relieve your nerves...like maybe listening to a song that you like and that will get you pumped and energized. Or do whatever it is that makes you relax. I hope I helped, and be sure to tell me the results of tryouts-I really want to know. You have my support. Good luck! :) [ partygurl24's advice column | Ask partygurl24 A Question ]

caramella answered Saturday August 5 2006, 9:17 pm: Ive had your same problem before but in fashion designing....Youre problem is that youre over confident and losing is just not an option.Just enter the dance company and know that your gonna lose 90% anyway and youre just doing this for fun.If you have hope 90% that your gonna win and you DONT,youll go crashin down and get depressed. adrifacee answered Saturday August 5 2006, 8:24 pm: go for it. dont let stuff hold you back.
being turned down is somtimes what makes
you better. because it makes you want to
practice, and you end up working on your
low points and getting even better with
your high points. so dont be discouraged
if you dont make it, just train more,
dance a little longer and youll do fine
if you beleive in yourself. i know it
sounds corney, but doing good goes along
with thinking you are good. hope this
helps you :) good luck in your tryouts.
ps. i tried out for volleyball this year,
and i didnt make it, so this summer i
went to a camp and i got wayy better.
so maybe try dance camp and stuff. =] [ adrifacee's advice column | Ask adrifacee A Question ]
lilteacup answered Saturday August 5 2006, 8:11 pm: If you don't try out, you will spend the rest of your life wondering "what if?". If you try out and still don't make it...at least you know you were brave for putting yourself on the line.
confusedbabii answered Saturday August 5 2006, 7:56 pm: i would say to try out. if you make it, it'll probably be amazing. if you don't, you can always ask the people who choose if you make it or not what your weaknesses were and for some pointers so that maybe you can try out again next year.
kckstartmyheart answered Saturday August 5 2006, 7:42 pm: i have been dancing for about 7 years. i know how you feel. i tried out for my company and i didnt make it but im still living and im okay with it. i think you should try out cause think about. if you dont try out not only will you not be in company but you might regret not trying out because then you would never know if you could have made it or not. but if you try out not only do you have the chance of making it but you also will be able to be happy knowing at least you tried and wont regret NOT trying out. and if you dont make it life goes on and you will be able to learn from the adutions and wat to expect and next year deffinatley make it. good luck!!! and i hope i helped you out!

thelaura answered Saturday August 5 2006, 7:37 pm: Try it, and if you make it, that's excellent! But if you don't, it's still experience and you would have learnt from it. It doesn't necessarily mean youve failed or anything :) [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
xoIDOLox answered Saturday August 5 2006, 7:27 pm: It won't hurt to try. You've got nothing to loose. If you really want to try to be a professional dancer, you're going to face rejection at some point in time.
uisforukelele answered Saturday August 5 2006, 7:17 pm: you should definitely try out. dancing is obviously your talent, and even if you think you aren't good enough for this dance company, you still deserve the chance to show off! i have the same problem- music is my talent, so i'm going to try out for jazz band at school this year. but all of the kids in jazz band are 4 years older than me and ten times better than me. however, if i do make it, it will be really cool. the same thing goes for dance. if you do make it, it will be really cool. but, if you don't make it, there's always next year, right? i didn't make jazz band last year, but this year i feel way more prepared. you would be hurting yourself by not trying out because you would never know if you would have made it or not. so go ahead and try out! all the other people trying out are probably more nervous than you are. good luck :) [ uisforukelele's advice column | Ask uisforukelele A Question ]

I am a dancer. I am on the dance company. I've been dancing now 11 years. I tried out my 7h year of dancing - and I made it. So, I've been competing for 4 years now. I was so nervous. I thought I would never make it. But I did.
Don't worry. Everyone get nervous. I know I did. Their was like 50 girls in one room, and I felt pressured. I hate feeling pressured. All I know, is that I tried my best - and thats what matters!
You will mess up. Everyone does. I did!
Trust me, try out. I got so scared the very first time I was on stage competing against other schools. But it turned out to be more than just a hobby. Something I do all the time now. I'm not afrarid to show people my talent. Honestly, being in dance company - made me a better dancer!
If you don't end of making it - its ok. Theirs always next year. And you always need another year of technique! :D
lauren_taylor answered Saturday August 5 2006, 6:49 pm: I think that you should definatley try out! 7-8 years is a lot of experience to have in dance.
And if you don't make it, think of it this way:
You will probobly find out some things you need to work on & improve so that you could make it the next year!
