I have curly, frizzy, thick hair.

If you want to keep your hair wavy, I would suggest using a mousse by LaCoupe called Perfect Curls. Or a hair serum by John Frieda called Frizz-Ease Hair Serum (Original Formula or Extra Strength, Step 3.)

If you want to straighten your hair, first use a straightening product so your hair doesn't get damaged. I would suggest L'oreal's Studio Line "Hot Straight" It is heat activated so it will improve the results when you straighten your hair and it will protect your hair.

If your hair is really damaged I would consider using a product by Mane 'n Tail called Deep Moisturizing Conditioner. You can also use the shampoo if needed.

I got this stuff that works pretty well... I got it from the barber's shop. What it does is it prevents frizz, helps keep tangles away and helps your hair shine. It's called Redken 02 Satinwear. It really helps when you blow-dry your hair because your hair doesn't frizz and tangle as much. Put it on the frizzy spots and they go away. Use it when your hair is damp. Good luck with your problem.

Hmm, I have an idea.
I used to use this stuff , it was called Matrix [sold only in professional stores]
It was a orange tube, and it was called Styling creme. Put it in your hair right before you style it , that is about 15.00.
Another thing you could try doing, is using a hair straightner and putting shine serum on it before you straighten it.
Good luck!

My friend has that same type of hair. She straightens it and it just ends up becoming frizzy and wavy again. You might try asking your stylist (hair cutter, hair lady, i forget what to call them lol)if there is anything that can help control your hair type. I think that there are some kinds of hair products just for your hair type to help control.

My best bet is that your hair is damaged, especially if you're using straighteners a lot, really, you should try not to use straighteners or curlers for a while to let your hair try to repair. If you have a hairdryer, you can use to style your hair, which blows out cold air, this is probably better to use than using heat to dry it, as well. If you haven't got a hairdryer like this though, investing in a good heat defence styling spray (I use a TRESemme one), is really good, because even if you're not styling your hair, this will still make your hair shinier. A good spray on conditioner as well, to apply after shampooing and conditioning is also a good idea. Something else I've started using about once a week, though of no particular brand in general, is a conditioning treatment you leave on your hair for about 30 minutes, and is set to repair hair. Even if your hair isn't damaged, it gives it it's life back. I hope I've helped =)

oh sweetie

i go through the same thing!
it seems like theirs nothing to do about it.
before you straighten your hair, put a bunch of hair product that makes your hairr a bit more manageable and comb through it. then straighten it so its not as damaged. bed head might work well, but i got my straightener and hair product from my hairdresser. although its a hastle and expensive, the hair products you get from your hair dresser are best to use

best of luck!

xoxo

First, I'd suggest getting your hair cut. Dead ends, split ends, fried ends, et cetera; they'll make even the best hairstyle go frizzy and icky in a matter of minutes. Plus, a good trim will make it seem less thick.

For shampoo, use something for dry, frizzy hair, such as Pantene or Herbal Essences. Or, if you're going the salon shamoo route, Bed Head is AMAZING. Ask the person who cuts your hair what she'd suggest. But you don't need really expensive shampoo, I've had good experiences with everything I've suggested.

Doing a hair mask one or twice a week makes your hair shiny and soft. You can buy jars of the stuff at a store, but I've found the best one is olive oil. Heat about a quarter cup in the microwave(or little more, I depending on how thick and long your hair is) of plain old olive oil; you dont need anything fancy; supermarket brand is fine. By the way, before you do this one, have a bottle of clarifying shampoo handy. Suave makes one; it's clear and is like, a dollar at WalMart. It'll get the oil out quicky and won't leave anything behind. Additionally, don't apply the oil to your roots, they'll end up oily and icky (i know from experience)

Also, what kind of straightener are you using? The best ones are ceramic- they get SUPER hot but won't fry your hair as much. But make sure your hair is TOTALLY dry (a blow-dryer helps). If you don't have the time to wait, the Remington Wet2Style works really well, and is only about 30-35 dollars. Before straightening, put something in your hair to protect it. A serum is best. I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny- it's $17 a bottle, but it lasts a really long time. Garnier Fructis works about the same, but won't smell as good. (Hairspray will help to hold your style and keep humidity from turning your hair into a total frizball)

Straightening takes forever, so for the days you're not up to flatironing your tresses, a good hairgel and the serum I've already mentioned is all you need. After you get out of the shower, comb through your hair with detangler (crazy as it sounds, Suave for Kids is the best I've ever used. And it smells like apples.) After you get all the tangles out, squeese out the extra water, then put a couple drops of serum in. When your hair is about half dry, put some hair gel in. Herbal Essences has really good stylers, but any brand will work fine. Pick out the one that you like best & is best suited to your hair. As your hair dries, a wide-tooth comb will seperate your hair and keep it from drying in clumps. Finish with some hairspray and you're done!

hope I helped! If you need anymore product suggestions or anything, don't hesitate to ask me! (I also have AIM - LauraxoMichelle)

My hairs the same way. Mine is damaged from all the dying and perms. Try the new shampoo from Dove. Its made for hair thats been dyed, but its great if your hair is damaged. Get the one for lightned hair. Also get the conditioner. Also try the Frizz-ease system. Get the one used as step 3 (they come in steps). It helps my hair a ton.
