Losing 20 Pounds

Hello, I'm a girl and I'm 14. I have a lot of fat around my buttocks, thighs, and my stomach. I'm actually had a woman at an amusement park ask me if I was pregnant! (If I was she wasn't going to let me ride a certain thing.) I didn't think I looked that bad until that day so now I'm worried about losing weight. I'm 130 pounds so I figure my goal will be to lose 20 pounds, but more importantly lose the fat. Has anyone got any tips, rountines, and exercises I should try? I like in the country so I haven't got any good places to run and it's so hot here. I can't swim, btw. Anyway, please help me lose the extra pounds so I can feel confident again!

No pun intended there with the pregnancy website, it's just really helpful. Wall-sits (squats) will help with your thighs and butt also.

First of all, 130 pounds isn't too much. However, if you want to lose weight:

-Don't drink sugary drinks such as soda or pop, not even the diet variety because the sugar substitutes can lead to an increased appetite. Make sure you drink enough water, because you can feel more hungry if you're dehydrated.

-Don't sit down right after a meal, becuase more fat goes to your stomach that way. If you can, stay standing up for an hour after each meal.

-Weigh-lifting helps you build muscle, which helps you burn more fat. Just be careful not to hurt yourself. I would recommend that you use weights that are no more than 5 pounds.

-Jumping rope is good because you can do that at home.

-If possible, do your own cooking because that makes you eat less.

-Don't keep junk food at home.

For the fat around your stomachs sit ups would work the best while your watching tv run in place for your legs and eat healthier and exercising healthy food should lose weight all around your body but you wont lose it like all at once it withh take some time

Well, can I ask you how tall you are?

Your best bet is to exercise: Situps, pushups, weights, and walking/running.

And if you diet or anything make sure you do it safely!

excercise!! run, go swimming, go in sports, anything that gets you moving! also eat healthy. cut down on salty and sugary foods, and foods with starch such as potatoes and mashed potatoes. heres 2 meal plans that i got from Seventeen:

Breakfast:

3/4 cup cheerios
1 cup low fat milk or soy milk
1 medium banana
--------------------
mid-morning snack:

20 peanuts
3/4 (6oz) low fat plain yougurt
--------------------
lunch:

2 slices whole wheat bread
4 slices turkey breast cold cuts
1 slice of american cheese
1 tsp. mayonaise
and with your sandwich:
1 cup raw carrots
1 glass of milk
---------------------
evening snack:

3/4 cup blueberries
2 small chocolate chip cookies
-------------------------
dinner:

3 oz grilled chicken
1 whole wheat tortilla
1 tbsp low fat sour cream
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup cooked broccoli
1 glass of water




meal plan #2
-----------
breakfast:

make a frenchtoast sandwich! Top 1 piece of homemade or frozen french toast with sliced strawberries and a sliced half of banana. Put another piece of french toast on top, and cut it in half. Drink a glass of milk.

midmorning snack:

Munch on a combo of 1 cup cheerios, 1/4 cup raisins, and 2 tablespoons of peanuts. Drink a glass of water.

Lunch:

Make a burrito sandwich by rolling up turkey, lettuce, and tomato in a flour tortilla. Drink a glass of milk. For sweet stuff, eat an apple and a cup of low-fat jello

afternoon snack:

in a blender, combine 1/2 cup each of your favorite fruit juice, yougurt, and cut up fruit. add a few ice cubes. cover the blender and blend until smooth. eat pretzels for a salty treet to go with your sweet smoothie.

dinner:

Dig into a plate of spaghetti and meat sauce, 1 breadstick, 1 cup of sugar snap peas, and a glass of milk. for dessert, make a sundae with a slice of pound cake topped with a acoop of vanilla ice cream and 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries.




follow these methods and you should loose weight! don't forget to drink ALOT of water and excercise. don't go aneroxic or anything stupid like that. good luck and i hope i helped!!

what i did/do is i have a workout bike i set it in front of the tv and watch my fav tv show and work hard and steady for a half hour every day u could use a treadmill or just do push ups or sit ups good luck

Hey.
I play hockey and for that, you need to be in pretty good shape... and not to say that im out of shape... but im not in the best shape!! So I have all these routienes that 1 or 2 times a day each.

7 minute workout-
Crunches-50
Twists-25 *A set of crunches in which your elbow reachers over to the opposite knee. 2 twists =1)
Leg Raises- 25 *Legs 8" off the ground. life them until they are at a 45 degree angle. bring them back to 8" off the ground.
flat crunches-50 *crunches... but your knees arn't bent*
scissors-25 *legs 12" off the ground. Mobe your right elbow towards the opposite knee and the knee bends closer towards the right elbow. (2 scissors =1)
crunches-50

if you can follow that...... but you do each different exersize one after another.... it really hurts. But work through it.

Timed workout
With a clock nearby
with your hands behind your head, lift your legs up about 8 inches and hold it for 1 minute
bring your legs up to a 90 degree angle and back down to the 8 inches off the ground 10 times
on the 10th time, hold the position *about 65 degrees* for 45 seconds.

This is hard too. but it takes about 3 minutes. make sure to keep your knees straight!!

Side workout *I call it off ice training workout but whatever)!
10 crunches
10 crunches with feet raised off the ground
10 punches *feet off the ground. Punch into the air across your chest
10 penguins *with your feet off the ground, move your body side to side almost.

so these are hard to explain........
and you can do them by yourself.

im no doctor, but my dads one. i think the best exersize to do for fat in those areas is squats and crunches. Every day for 2 weeks do 50 crunches. at first your belly might be sore so i would start out with 10 a day and if you can take more a day without a sore stomach, fine. then for a minute, squat against a threshold with your back flat against the board in the dorway.and stay in that position without getting up or going any higher. then you can just do 30 regular quats every day

Heres what I do...and I'm kinda in the same situation as you...until now. I got involved in a dance class and its so much fun and a good work out! Another thing start eating healtheir DONT STARVE YOURSELFFF!!!!! but cut back on the snack in between meals if you can, do 10 crunches or sit ups a night and then work your way up to a goal that you can handle like what i did was start off with 10 a night then once i felt like i could handle it i did 20 a night then 40 and now i do 60 i want to make it to 100 soon!! Also drink more water because drinking pop really adds fat around the buttox and thighs if you drink more water that would be good. So eat healtheir do a couple sets of crunches a night run as much as you can, drink water, and get involved in any sports, and if theres no sports you can do then do stuff by yourself or call friends over to do it with you. you can dance byurself (Something i do!) and everytime you want to eat get a banana or something healthy i really hope everything works out for you ***oh and you have to really want to lose weight to do this because its really hard trust me** I Hope i helped!! AND PS> DIET PILLS ARE NOT THE ANSWER!!!

it's highly likely that the woman at the amusement park had been instructed to ask every woman that same question. you probably weren't the only one that day. consult your doctor before losing weight or considering a diet. it's likely that you don't need to lose weight at all.
