Lips

Question Posted Thursday July 13 2006, 5:36 pm

My lips are really chapped and I'm using the jar of Carmex with the yellow lid. I've used it a lot and left it on, but everytime it wares off my lips start to peel and I'm tempted to bite them again and get them chapped. Should I leave the peeling skin alone? Any additional advice would be wonderful.

ive seen research saying that carmex is addictive and it only dries out your lips more. you might want to switch products...

You should continue using Carmex and when it starts to ware off..put more on. When it heals..try using Soft Lips. Its really good and it softens your lips. Also, for lip gloss go to bath and body works..and get this lip gloss..its in like a green tube with a back top.I forget the name of it but if you go there you can ask them and i'm sure they'll know. Its awesome!
Good luck! :)

I would just go and use Vaseline, its basically petroleum jelly. When i have severely chapped lips I just put a whole lot on, lol funny but it works. Try not to bite them. I usually put it on before i go to sleep so i don't bite them, and usually by the morning when i wake up their fine or almost close to fine.

carmex is good. i use it. if you have dead skin, you should just leave it alone, and continiue to use it

carmex is the problem, sorry. it has tiny peices of fiber glass in it that knicks the lips making the person need more of it. i would switch to a lip balm. anything will work, but you should try and get the kind with SPF in it if you are outside alot.

leave the peeling alone. try blistex it works good. chapped lips also forms from not drinking alot of water so drink more water. also before bed, put vasiline on your lips trust me i do it and it works! it makes your lips really soft and it should make the peeling go away. whenever you go in the shower put vasiline on ur lips and take a really warm long shower and when you get out rub off the remaining vasiline on your lips it helps get moisture in. good luck hope i helped! xox melissa

P.S. please rate!!

I use Carmex too.

And I have about the same problem.
I always put it on before i go to bed.
Its part of my nightly routine.

It works, then continue putting it on throughout the day.
Thats how I do it.

Since carmex isnt working for you very well try another chapstick, maybe a medicated one. Yes, Leave the peeling skin alone and drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated, that helps often. Hope that I helped you.
