if you go to a drug store/gas station. you ask to buy a pack of cigarettes. they want to see your ID, if you are underage, can you get in trouble for adtempting to buy cigarettes?

It is illegal for the store owner to sell cigarettes to a minor. My boss wanted me to go buy him some cigars and I couldnt because I was underage. I didnt get in trouble because the woman knew I was underage and she knew they were for my boss.
If you are underage, you really shouldnt be smoking.

Please do not try to smoke. Stand up fpr yourself and be a leader not a follower and start a non-smoker trend. Because everyone will miss you if you die because of smoking. Dont you want to live a nice, long, peacful life? You won't if you smoke. Please don't smoke.

No legal action will be taken against you for being underage and attempting to buy cigarettes. More than likely, the person behind the register will just tell you that they can't sell it to you without and ID. Most places have the policy that they card anyone who appears to be under the age of 40. Some places don't card at all because they think that they're not going to get caught, but eventually they will because most police stations do stings and end up handing out a lot of fines.

normally you wont get in trouble for trying to buy them, but if your CAUGHT smoking them, thats another story..

Just for trying, no I doubt it. The cashier will just most likely tell you to get out of the store. My granddad used to own a bunch of Shell stations and that's all that would happen at his stores.
