My hair is long, dry, brittle, dull and has split ends. I want it to be soft, smooth, shiny and healthy. How do I go about getting that? Any product recommendations? I'll rate 5's
GraceFullFall answered Friday June 23 2006, 8:52 am: I recomend THERMA SILK HEAT ACTIVATED (shampoo .&. conditinor).
Now after your done swiimiing if you swiim alot then i would buy a CLARAFYING shamppoo to wash your hair with after your done swiimiiing and use the same conditinor.
JulieSutherland answered Friday June 23 2006, 12:29 am: Well, I'd say the first thing to do is to go to your hair stylist and get you hair cut (or trimmed depending on how long you want it) to get rid of the spilt ends. A little clean-up goes a long way.
Second of all, I am not sure what texture your hair is, whether it is colored etc., but I would say to find a good deep conditioner or a weekly hair mask (companies usually label according to hair types).
Also, another hair saver is to just let your hair be once in a while. Straightening, curling and blow drying can really dry out your hair. I hope this helped! [ JulieSutherland's advice column | Ask JulieSutherland A Question ]

ContinuationSoda answered Sunday June 18 2006, 11:04 pm: ok! well i suggest using hot oil made by suave. you can by it at walmart for 1.99. its a great at home system to healthy hair. another thing, make sure you always use conditioner. that makes a huge difference! and to get the split ends to go away, get a haircut.
blow drying your hair on cool will help. or just let it air dry.
coffeexaddict answered Sunday June 18 2006, 3:33 pm: Garnier Fructisce Deep Conditioner will make your hair really smooth in only 4 minutes, also Sleek & Shine by L'Oreal will make your hair shiny and healthy; but that product is usually put on before you straighten your hair. As for split ends, I would just recommend a trim next time you go to get your hair cut. I used to hav dry & brittle hair, but now my hair's alot healthier and smoother when I used the products I mentioned before.

When i straighten my hair, i use BioSilk Silk Therapy Smoothing Solution. It makes your hair not frizzy
For shampoo and conditioner, i suggest using Herbal Essences Split Ends Shampoo and Conditioner. [smells really good ha]
I also use Bedhead Health Goddess [its a vitamin booster for your hair, makes it more healthy]
isis answered Sunday June 18 2006, 12:34 pm: First you need a good hair cut to lose those split ends. then use a moisturising shampoo, follow it with a good protein conditioner, as this will nourish the hair. With the conditioner, you apply it to towel dried hair, wrap it in clear film, then in a warm towel for 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. If you use a hair drier and/or straighteners, use a protective spray to limit heat damage. If at all possible, try to let it dry naturally for a couple of months. Try not to expose it to hot sun for too long as this can damage the hair as well.
I don't know what country you're in so it's difficult to recommend any particular products, but if you can get hold of John Freida Frizzease, that's a good one to use.
If you follow all of the above, your hair should start to improve. It won't be an overnight thing though if it's really bad. You will need patience.
Hope that helps, good luck. [ isis's advice column | Ask isis A Question ]
jamziix16 answered Sunday June 18 2006, 12:05 pm: this might not help you, but that's okay. i use matrix sleek.look. it works really good on making your hair soft and shiny. i use the shampoo and conditioner, and when i straighten my hair, i use sleek.look iron smoother. spray it on before you straighten your hair and it makes it really healthy looking and soft. you can find it at any salon, i'm sure. i work at great clips and i got it there. to get rid of the split ends, you should go get your hair trimmed. it makes your hair look a LOT healthier! hope this helped! sp4rklingr4in answered Sunday June 18 2006, 3:37 am: First of all, it might be a good idea to get a haircut or at least a trim to get rid of all your split ends. Use shampoo and conditioner daily; however don't overuse. Don't shower more than once a day because it's bad for your hair. You should use a conditioner that fits your hair type. I use thermasilk and it works really well for me. [ sp4rklingr4in's advice column | Ask sp4rklingr4in A Question ]
bNicolex3 answered Sunday June 18 2006, 1:07 am: try cutting it to a more shoulder length or so hair cut. and get a deep condition. my hair gets very dry so i get a deep condition about every month or 2 to make my hair healthier and shinier. its good if you straighten & blow dry your hair almost every day. and use a shampoo & conditioner for dry & damaged hair [ bNicolex3's advice column | Ask bNicolex3 A Question ]
pinkers answered Sunday June 18 2006, 12:38 am: WEll you probably need to use shampoo that helps dry/damaged hair. I recommend Pantene ProV, but i think any brand would work. [ pinkers's advice column | Ask pinkers A Question ]
