KELLY_ELIZABETH answered Tuesday May 30 2006, 6:48 pm: im almost positive its a yellow lab. i have two of them, and they are adorable. if its anything else- its going to be a golden retriver. but those tend to have longer hair.

They are smart... our pup says please! They are loyal to a fault. They are protective... our pup plants herself next to us and watches the doors.
They are wonderful dogs.
That being said, they are also a hell of a lot of work if you want to raise them properly. They need a lot of room to run, both inside and outside. Our pup tears through the house and yard like thunder. She is protective and part of that is that she barks at pretty much anything that moves... and loudly! Oh, and much of that loud barking takes place in the middle of the night. She is also loyal to a fault... she barely leaves our side when we walk. This includes carrying the baby (our five month old) down stairs. She gets so close that there's been times when we've had to catch ourselves to keep from falling over her.
I could go on and on about how much of a pain in the tush this pup is when she gets a mind to be. She is a wonderful pup, really. She's part of the family. She's just a lot of work.
Think about it before you jump into the responsibility of a dog. Any breed is going to require a lot of work on your part.
Please, for the sake of the dog if nothing else, when thinking of getting a dog consider more than the "cute" factor.
