I'm considering getting a circumcision since I heard it is less likely to get STD's. The only problem is that some of my friends said that getting a circumcision makes your penis smaller. I don't know how since it is just getting your foreskin cut. Is this true or not?
barbieblissx answered Tuesday May 30 2006, 10:56 pm: well i always thought most guys get it circumsized before hand but it isnt a huge drastic change off your penis size haha. it wont be like 2 inches or anything. nothin to worry about.
x3brose08 answered Monday May 22 2006, 1:08 pm: why would you care if it makes it smaller or not... size really is not a big issue... circumsision is not recommended, but it does keep it cleaner... and if you keep it un circumsised you won't have to clean it as much. it has no affect on whether you get STDs or not. just have safe sex... or obstain from it. Krupple answered Sunday May 21 2006, 2:30 am: It won't make your penis smaller, and I don't think it will do much for STDs. Also, I've heard you can lose 50%-70% of the good feeling you get from your orgasm.
Also, tiny bumps will develope on the tip of your penis.
karenR answered Sunday May 21 2006, 1:16 am: It won't make it smaller, not at all. I have heard it makes the penis less sensitive, but don't know for sure about that.
You should also know that being uncircumcised does NOT make you any more prone to STDs than one who is circumcised. If you have sex with someone who has an STD, you will get it regardless of how much skin is on your penis.
It may be easier for some to keep a circumcised penis clean in regards to personal hygiene, but
that is probably the only benefit gained. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]

You know....there are much easier ways to prevent STD's. If that is the sole reason you are doing it, I have to ask why?
Use a condomn. Even with a circumcision, you can still get STD's, and it's a complete myth that circumsion will prevent STD's.
You should probably do a little more research before you undergo minor (yet painful) surgery.
MHScutie87 answered Sunday May 21 2006, 12:49 am: Nahhh circumcision won't make your penis actually smaller. Like you said, it will just take off the forskin, which is a physical change. It will not genetically change the size of your penis.
