how do you know if you're a true christian? i mean, i believe in God and that Jesus died for our sins and i go to church and pray every night, but i also lie frequently and stuff, and sometimes i feel like, intimidated by God?idk,its weird. but sometimes i get scared about like, revalation and stuff and i feel like theres a chance i wont go to heaven, even though i deffinetly believe in God and im not sure if i'm really a christian. can someone help ?

i consider myself a christian--well, i TRY to be the best christian i can be... everybody lies... it's just in our human nature... that's why God is here to help us. ask him to live in you, ask him to save you and protect you, ask for his forgiveness, and ask that he can give you the strength to live in the way he would if he would. do you spend time with God everyday? (praying to him, reading the bible, talking to him as he is your best friend)...if you have any questions, you are supposed to go to God first, and ask him to help you, you can't go in this life alone, you NEED God to help you. so just ask him to live in you, rededicate yourself to him. have faith in him, and don't give up, be dedicated to God. don't worrry about anything, pray about everything. i hope i helped some, need any extra advice, just ask me =)

Honestly, i don't know a Christian who hasn't lied once. I'm not saying it's right to lie, though, because it's not. It's better to tell the truth, but that's just what i think.
We are supposed to fear God, but we are also supposed to love him. Deuteronomy 6:2 says "so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life." There are many more versus like that, as well. & they all keep saying "Fear the LORD, your God."
A lot of Christian's question their faith. Atleast i know many. I think it has more to do with the fact that Satan is trying to make you question your faith in God, because when a Christian does that they are an easy target to attack. They've let their guard down.
If you are wanting me to tell you if you are a Christian or not, i can't help you there. I don't know you. There are only to people who know the TRUE answer and that's you & God. You need to pray about it. Ask God to give you the understanding that you are a Christian.

You sound just like me...and I'm a strong christian as well. Honestly, God understands that we are not perfect and only human and expects us to act as such. If you defiently believe in God, you're good! You have a problem when you're not trying to be a good person at all. The fact that you feel a little guilt is a good sign..even though there's not a reason too.

Everyone lies...even me. i'm a christian and i do lie and i cheat and other stuff like that but i repent for his forgiveness. and yea you should fear God but you also should love him. and if you believe in him you will go to heaven don't 2nd guess yourself if you love God and you trust him everything's fine. but also remember that there's no greater sin than sin. what that means is all sins are equal sex before marriage is a sin but it's equal to something as simple as lying. it's just the way or society works. but if you have any questions please e-mail me at sgarrison@fuse.net i'll be happy to help you. and a site that you can chat about this stuff go to www.air1.com it's a radio station with awesome music (rock/pop music) and you can chat with someone online if you also have any questions...

Maybe you're just convincing yourself that you you're a Christian? I have no idea i dont know your heart, but you go to church, and pray and thats totally great but have you really surrendered your life completely to God? Or maybe you just need to get your life on track and get closer to God you know? I know I need to. Have you let Him be the "Pilot" of your life? If you have questions please don't hesitate! Christian literally means "follower of Christ". A true follower of Christ knows Him. Because he/she knows Christ, he/she is saved from his/her sins and will spend eternity in heaven. "How do I know I'm saved?" is a frequently asked question. Here is an answer I gave someone else not to long ago:
Romans 8:16 states that; "The spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." So the first answer to the question of how we know is that the Spirit of God is the one who testifies to us that we are saved. It is not for people to give assurance of salvation, neither is it someone to simply convince themselves that they are saved. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that bears witness with our spirit that we are saved.
The next question should be; how does the Spirit bear witness with our spirit? Ephesians 2:8 tells us "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God..." Faith is the avenue by which a person is saved and it is faith that is produced, by the Spirit, when He testifies that we are God's children (Rom. 10:17). Therefore, we know we are saved because the Spirit of God testifies to our spirit that we are God's children and faith is produced in us.
What is faith? The Bible gives us the definition in Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." So, what the Spirit produces in us when He testifies to our spirit that we are God's children, is a certainty that even though we do not see the full reality of being children of God while we are on this earth, by faith we have an internal confidence that we belong to God. That internal confidence comes from the Lord and that is what we should count on to know that we are saved. If someone lacks that confidence they should seek the Lord to produce that in themselves.

I believe that if in your heart you love God and believe in him, then you are a true Christain. I dont care that some people say u have to go to church and do everything "right" to really be Christain. God loves everyone, so if you believe in him and in your heart truly love him then thats all that matters

If your a True Christian then you know that you SHOULD fear God. If you Believe then your a Christian. & If you Believe you will be saved..so dont worry about not getting into Heaven..God acepts everone who Believes!

you're not alone. i think every christian has probably gone through these types of doubts.
so let's see ... how to know you're saved.
First, you gotta believe Jesus died for you and paid the price for your sins. you do.
you gotta confess this faith to other people. you did.
you gotta repent. that means be willing to turn away from sin. (that doesn't mean we don't sin - the bible says that any of us that claim we don't sin are liars and the truth isn't in us) - it just means when we do sin, we have to be willing to turn away from it.
you should notice that you don't really want to sin anymore. you still do from time to time, but you're sorry (not just about the consequences, but that it happened in the first place)
if you will let Him, God will give you a clean heart and your wants will be different.
so, now that you know what repentance is, have you repented? if yes, then trust in Jesus and know that it is a process to become Christ-like. no one ever gets there instantly.
if not, that could be what's missing. repent and let God give you a clean heart.
Roman 10:9-10, Romans 6 (whole chapter), Luke 13:3 are all good Bible passages to look up.
