ok so this is like my 5th period and i've never had cramps really bad. today im having really bad cramps. whats the best thing to do, to stop the pain? its unbarable!
KELLY_ELIZABETH answered Tuesday April 11 2006, 7:21 pm: try keeping your body active. its supposed to help with the amount of cramps and reduce them.. but different girls have different things that help. oh, and deffinitally use midol. ITS AMAZING. if you really feel like crap, then put a heating pad on your lower stomach while your watching tv or on the computer or doing something while your sitting down. try relaxing as well.
kim06 answered Tuesday April 11 2006, 4:01 pm: try relaxing or having a warm bath if its really bad all the time your doctor can always give you things to help
i hope you get on ok

Mackenzie answered Monday April 10 2006, 8:11 pm: You have many options here: It's well known that regular physical activity helps reduce the cramping in some women, so there's an idea. You could also try taking a warm bath and using aromatherapy. Applying a heating pad on your lower abdomen or back should do wonders. If you don't have a heating pad, you can make one by simply filling a sock with rice and heating it in the microwave for a few minutes [must sound silly, but if the cramps get bad enough, it just might be worth it]. Also, many women start taking pills around the clock from the time their cycle starts, until it ends. Any pain killer will do, but I reccommend Ibuprofen, Extra Strength Advil or Midol -- it's also best to take medication will a meal, that way the risk of stomach discomfort is slimmed. loves2shop86 answered Monday April 10 2006, 7:18 pm: hey! well sorry to hear that... but at least you don't get cramps every time! basically, what you ned to do is drink a LOT of water (this will also help get rid of bloating), take some medicine with ibuprofin (tylenol, midol, advil... anything), lay down in bed and put a heating pad on your stomach! I have one that is microwavable... it's basically fleece and filled with these little balls that heat up in the microwave and stay warm for a while! Cramps should be gone within half an hour (hopefully)! :) hope u feel better! [ loves2shop86's advice column | Ask loves2shop86 A Question ]
xcheerbabex108 answered Monday April 10 2006, 7:10 pm: Take Tylenol or Motrin, put a hot heat compress on the irritable area, or 3 days before you expect your period, take Ibuprofen.
JerseyGirl819 answered Monday April 10 2006, 6:57 pm: you can take mydol or motrin or any pain relievers and that helps a lot. Its also good if you eat a bannana because it contains irons and helps stop the pain. Also if you are at home or taking it easy lie down and elevate your feet that way the blood from your legs can go to your uterus and make the process less painful - it works within ten minutes [ JerseyGirl819's advice column | Ask JerseyGirl819 A Question ]
DancinCutie08 answered Monday April 10 2006, 6:53 pm: i would say either midol or extra stregth tylonol
jeanine278972 answered Monday April 10 2006, 6:52 pm: Midol is a girl's best friend during the day
At night .. try rubbing icy hot on either your lower stomach or back .. wherever you have the cramps... Honestly .. IT WORKS! Or just get a warm compress to put over the area of cramps.. it really works and helps you relax.
skippy_pebbles answered Monday April 10 2006, 6:49 pm: yea i know how yea feel and i hate it when cramps get that bad. what i do since i never feel like taking some kinda medicine is find a position on my bed where the cramps dont hurt and then stay there. theres always a position where theres no pain and when you find it...its awesome lol
that's_so_fetch answered Monday April 10 2006, 6:46 pm: I totally know what you mean. I've had one period that my cramps hurt so bad I would do ANYTHING to get rid of them! I found that the best thing you can probably do is drink lots of water and get in a position on the couch where it wont hurt as much and watch tv until it goes away. Not much else you can do :]
