Contacts

Question Posted Monday April 10 2006, 6:35 pm

13/F

I'm getting contacts tomorrow, and I'm kind of worried about it. I'll have to take them out every day, and I'm kind of scared I won't be able to put them in correctly, rip them, or hurt my eyes. My mom is finally trusting me with contacts, so I REALLY want to be able to make her believe I'm ready for them. Can anyone please give me steps on how to put them in and take them out?

You`ll know trust me..

Eye doctors make sure their patient knows how to put && take out their contacts then they want you to come back && visit to make sure you do it currect && make sure their okay for your eyes..

Don`t be scared!!At first they feel funny but in a few days you`ll get used to them..You`ll also figure out your own way to take your contacts in && out..

I tae mine out a different way then the doctor showed me..I just slide them down then snatch it off my eye && the doctor said it was okay since i have long nails that way i don`t scratch them..

Also ripping them will be kind of hard but if you have long nails be careful

well most eye doctors wont let you leave with them until they are sure you can put them in and out by yourself

its very easy to do.. alls you do it put them in is just touch the contact your your eye and hold it for a few seconds and its in!

to get the out usualli just slide it down my eye until it folds in half and is easy to get out (i know it sounds hard but its very simple)

if you can talk your mom into it get night and days! that is was i have and you only have to change them (or even take them out) every 30 days.. because you are so young they may make you take them out like once a week but still thats very nice

Thats how i felt before i got my contacts. But if your getting them from an eye doctor(which you should be doing and not ordering them off the net) then they should show you how to put them in. and if they dont then you can always ask them to. when i got mine they showed me how to put them in and take them out and then made me do both myself before i left. and there might be instructions on either your bottle of contact solution(its what you soak you contacts in every night) or the box the contacts come in.

You should be getting your contacts from an optometrist. You are getting them from an optometrist right? You didn't just order them online or some such right?

If you got them from an optometrist or eye doctor your fitting appointment should include a demonstration of how to put them in and take them out and how to properly care for them.

If you didn't get them from an eye doctor, then make an appointment with one to learn how to take care of your contacts. It's worth the investment to be shown how to do it by a pro.

Nothing will tell you mother you are taking this seriously better then asking to have a professionals advice.
