catholic schools are sooooooo much more serious and even though you should be extremely focused on your studies, you need time to relax. how can you do this if you are stuck in a uniform you don't like. not all private schools wear uniforms, but most do. also the public schools offer more electives due to larger size. ]
i personally went to catholic school and public and now that i have a child of my own i have her in a christian school. i feel private school is best. there is more structure for learning. my grades dropped in public school and all my friends were not of the same status as i was once accustomed to. so what happened was i became like them ... ditching and all that stuff. i dunno i just think that way and its my opinion hope i helped. ]
i think catholic schools are better they have less fights they do not tolerate kids who make trouble and they only let people who pass the test in kids that care about there grades and they also have better facilities also theuy have a much lower drop out rate and more of the kids go to college ]
i've been to catholic . .and i say public is better. In catholic there is soo much more drama and problems. ]
This question really has a lot of answers as you may have noticed, but I did notice that one area of it wasn't covered. People kept talking about the people and the clothes, and I don't know about you, but I don't go to high school for the people and the clothes. Theres one major difference between public and catholic, and that's the mandatory religion and prayer classes in catholic high schools. This cuts back on your choices for elective courses. Public schools do not have religion classes set as mandatory, and some do not even have religion classes as an option until grade 11 or 12. Really your choice should depend on whether or not you would like to take these mandatory catholic religion courses. I personally am completely turned off of catholicism, and am depressed that disestablishmentarianism didn't cross over to Canada. Boo hoo. Anyway, hope I helped, and if not, then I guess I was of no help. ]
I would say public school. I was in catholic school before, and I absolutely HATED it. We had to wear skirts in Winter and it sucked. The guys only got to wear pants. At public schools, there's more oppurtunities to meet people, and you can wear what you want. They're not as strict & they don't push God on you. Some kids who are in catholic church don't even believe in God. I don't know, I just really like public school. It's a cool experience, and if it's a good school, it'll look good for college.

well i think it all depends on the schools and what not.. because some catholic highschools are better than others
but education wise i think public highschools are better and here is my reasoning:
my aunt used to student teach when she was in college and it happened to be at a catholic school. while working there she found out that that the teacher at the school who got paid the most barely made more than what her starting pay would be at the local public city school. with that info she decided to work at the city school because she was going to get payed more
with that said more teachers would prob want to get paid more so they would go to the public school over the catholic schools making the public schools have the better teachers and basically the catholic schools having the teachers that werent wanted as much
now as i said before it all depends on the area and what not. if the catholic school is rich then yeah i would go there because they would have just as good teachers most likely and prob. a slightly friendlier enviroment.
i would ask some of your friends and neighbors that go to public schools and see what they think about that school that you want to attend and then maybe take a tour of it then make a decision.
Ive noticed when people have switched to my public school from a catholic school they are much happier with all the freedoms they now have but its really all up to you ]
Depends on the school.
I used to go to a Catholic High School and I loved it.
I now go to a public high school where I am a Sophomore. I wish I was still back in teh Catholic one.
At public schools it's like you need a lot of clothes and stuff so you don't wear the same thing twice alot. People talk when you do. >.< Unless your Catholic high school doesn't wear uniforms.
I say stay at your Catholic school because you might not get a chance to go back.
But that is just my opinion.
Hope I helped.

I think public schools are better.
Public schools the majority of the time have
-more people
-more freedom
-more oppurtunities to meet others
-are not as strict
-more accepting ]
It all depentds on the schools, you really cant generalize and say that all public schools are better or that all catholic schools are better, education wise it tends to be catholic schools that tend to offer a better education but public schools do too....i go to an all girls catholic school, and realy i love it, the education is great, and their is not problem without the boys, but i mean it really depends on what you are looking to get out of the school, if you want to go to college, colleges tend to look higher upon students who graduated from a private school, but socially public school may be better, but really just depends on the school,
hope i helpded ]
I've never been to a catholic school in my life, so I can only give you my opinions of public school. Honestly, I'm glad my parents sent me to public school all along because it's given me the oppertunity to learn about other people and their differences. There are a lot of things that you probably wouldn't be exposed to at catholic school that are common at public school. Of course, that could be concidered good or bad, but it's important that you learn about diversity and learn to accept other people even though they might have a different lifestyle than your own. Some public schools have drug problems and stuff like that, but the good things definatly outweigh the bad. ]
defenitely public school. there is of course the problem that most catholic schools arent coed. there is another inherent problem with private schools in general. they dont prepare you for the real world. you are in a large group of people most, if not all, will be of relatively simelar backgrounds and will share the same views. while its nice to find a clique like that in a public school you need to be in contact with a large variety of people. also, and im sorry to say this, but secular teachings in religious schools are often suspect. you can get what ever religious learning needs you have fullfilled at a sunday school or something like that, but public school is definitely a better option ]
