Ya, it really depends on you. If you are hesitant on spending so much money, there are other MP3's available. I heard that nanos scratch easily and you could probably loose it in a snap (if you are the type that looses a lot of stuff)... Maybe you should even look into getting the bigger iPod because for like $50 more, you have a color screen and all that (haha).
And if $$$ is the issue and all you want to do is have a take-with-me song player, I'm pretty sure that there are other less expensive devices out there so you can do a little research. Apple will probably just come up with something cooler later on anyway (they always do).
It might be worth it-it's different with anyone. But I'm pretty sure that Apple has a return policy so keep your receipt just in case. ;)

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Spend the extra 50-70 bucks to get 15 times the storage and video playback. Plus the regular one is harder to leave in your pocket for the washing maching to ruin.

Its worth the money.. But now if they had ipod minis still. I would go for the ipod minis. But sadly they dont. So go for the ipod nano. It doesnt hold much. So pick what songs you want wisely, If your really into music.than i wouldnt get a small GB. They scratch but its all good.Just get a cover for it and it solves the problem. Other than that its worth the money =)

I think it's worth the money! But be warned: Songs from CDs take up quite a bit of space, so if you are planning on burning a lot of songs from CDs onto your Ipod, get the one with 4 GB.

Ipod Nanos also tend to scratch. Get an Ipod skin. They're made of a silicone kind of material and come in many different colors. I put one on my Ipod, and it hasn't been scratched since then.
They're also pretty fragile, so don't put it anywhere it can break.

It's not all bad like some people say it is. It's very convenient and small; it doesn't take up a lot of space in your purse.

If you aren't good at keeping up with things and tend to break things easily, you might want to think twice about getting one. Otherwise, you should be fine!

I hope I helped, and if you have any more questions, feel free to leave one in my inbox!

I love my nano!! They are so covenient and work really great. I bet you have heard people warn you that because they are so thin, they can break. Well, this might be true to some people (the ones who treat their stuff like crap) but I've had mine since October and its in perfect condish. You can keep pictures in them, which is kinda cool if you want to show your friends and family them. Yeah so they're pretty good. Don't get a Zen Micro though cuz they are really hard to use with the confusing buttons and stuff. I love my nano and I belive they are def, worth it!

I tihk it worth the money but kida depends. I know a bunch of people tha have ipods/ipod nanos and they hardly ever use it .Yhey always wanna listen to other popels and im liike why dont you just use your own butthey dont if you gonna be like that then dont get it. Or if your gonna get it and only put like 90 songs on it...like thats pointless. I have one and i use it everyday and have 600 songs so i dont think it was a waste of money so i guess its just all about how and whne your gonna use it.

Yeah its worth the money, if its what you want. Theres all kinds of Ipods.. getting the smaller ones would probely be better.. they still hold ALOT of music.. unless you are the type of person that has TONS then a bigger ipod would be better.. the bigger the more expenive though.

It depends on how much money you have. I will say this, though: if you can, get one at a store that offers a GOOD extended warranty. You'll probably need to read the fine print.

For example, compare Best Buy and Circuit City. Their extended warranties cost about the same amount of money. But Best Buy requires you to have the original receipt and paperwork. Circuit City doesn't require ANY paperwork - they go by the ID number inscribed on the equipment. Best Buy's warranty only covers factory defects. Circuit City covers almost any damage - unless you literally bring it into the store in small pieces, they will replace the item with a new one. If the item isn't working the way it did when it was new, it gets replaced - and you can do that several times. No questions asked!

I break earphones fairly often; they're a weak point in most portable electronics. But I know that I can have mine replaced, free, along with the rest of my mp3 player, for the next two years. And it only cost an extra $20 or so.

I've heard that CostCo does a lifetime full-replacement warranty on most of their electronics, so you might want to look into them, too. Or just check around at local stores.

Incidentally, I use a SanDisk player, and I'm pretty happy with it.

I think it's really cute and if you like the size of it then get it. When I went to get a new iPod I was going to get an iPod Nano but I didn't think it was worth it that much. It's 250 dollars and it stores about 1,000 songs I would say but instead I got the newest one that plays videos, movies and stores pictures and it was 320 dollars and that is defenetly worth it. It's bigger and all but it's a lot better. The head phones are also better and louder. If I were you, I'd get the bigger one.

haloguy answered Tuesday February 7 2006, 11:16 pm:
Honestly, no I don't. For 250 dollars you get an iPod nano that holds less than 1000 songs (about 850 because of memory used for the operating system), and no video capability. For only 50 dollars more you get a video iPod that holds 7,500 songs, is only twice as thick as a nano, and has video capability. Go for the video. It is worth it, trust me. Please rate.

smallbutsweet90 answered Tuesday February 7 2006, 11:04 pm:
personally, i dont think the Nanos are worth it. They just came out and yet a number of my friends have already sat on theres, left it in there purse/pocket and they break extremely easily. for only 50 more dollars you acn get an ipod, with actually arent nearly as big as they used to be, which can do so much more. i think ipods are awesome i just dont kno if a nanos worth it, plus they only hold like 500 songs. hope i helped =)

the nano has been overrated since the day it came out, just a smaller version of the original i-pod, its got A LOT of memory so it should hold a lot of data, but i heard something was wrong with it like the cover and it scratches off from just bein in your pocket so id definently get a relaly nice case.

It really depends on you. If you have tons of songs/videos/photos that you want with you all the time in a conveniant small package that is the iPod nano then yes, it's quite worth it. :)
