LiLReBeL6907 answered Sunday December 25 2005, 4:28 pm: Well when you go to a gynocologist for the first time, it is very normal to be embarassed and nervous. Basically to answer your question bluntly, yes, they do check all of your female anatomy. Since you are young, they will probably just do a regular breast examination (they will feel around your breast in a circular motion, feeling for lumps). They will also give you a pap smear... which will definently be the most unpleasant part of the examination. They might also give you a rectum examination. It depends on your age, the reason why you are getting this examination, and mostly on the doctor. Just don't worry about it. Every woman will go through this, so it is something everyone will experience. So don't worry about it. Talk to your doctor about it or just call the office and ask them what they will probably be examining. It is embarassing to talk about, I know, but it is important. So just relax and don't stress. You'll be just fine. Need any more advice feel free to note my inbox.

QueenCece answered Friday December 23 2005, 11:56 pm: Well, hun i hope you have a woman becuase its' a whole lot comfortable that way. Well they do touch your breasts and put a little pressure on it with a circular motion. It doesn't hrut really it's quick ticklish, lol! Then this is the part you need to be strong for she or he will have you spread your legs open and she or he will use a metal thing to hold your vagina open. It doesn't it feels cold on you. Then they put one or two fingers inside you and reach to see if you have the soft bumpy spot that blocks going any further. That says your still a virgin. Tan she or he may press on your pelvis area under your stomach outside as his or her hand is still in you. She or he can do it with or without your period going on. You don't lay there butt naked though!!hahahaha....no your covered with a hospital gown like in a hospital. They will pull the gown down on top to do the breast examination though. Don't worry though, it may feel quite weird, but it's to check to see if your okayin your health. They had to do the same to me i didn't percularly like. I asure you if you get a woman doctor that's nice it's so much better and she makes you feel comfortable. I mean with a man you'd feel like he's sort of raping you more than a woman examining you. So..i hoped i helped you and good luck in a good way.
IAmShammay answered Friday December 23 2005, 9:32 pm: girly?
well this is my advice from what i think you mean. they check your breasts for lumps(it depends how old you are--cancer possibly) and if everything is doing okay. "down there"is a different story. i dont know how much of a visit your getting, but the doctor just checks you out to see if there are any problems. i know that in most cases they take samples ans send them out to be analyzed. umm your bum..not so sure. haha
but just relax during the visit and everything should be fine.

TimmyTM answered Friday December 23 2005, 4:21 pm: Do keep in mind that I'm male, so I have no firsthand experience.
They'll probably feel up your breasts briefly. I thought this website might have something:
But. She doesn't have a specific entry on gynos in particular. Note the bottom, a finger or two in the Vagina while feeling for your ovaries. I don't think speculums are necessary unless they're checking your cervix.
They won't need to check your bum unless you're having issues with your bum.
That seems to cover everything. Apparently, they sometimes check the muscles that separate the rectum and the anus. Just relax, okay? I'm rather familiar with my bum and it's not that uncomfortable if you just relax.
Of course, it's a little scary if someone's looking at your private areas and proding you in ways that you've never been proded before. Just remember that millions of girls feel just like you. xXxpinky615xXx answered Friday December 23 2005, 3:37 pm: I'm sorry, but I can't give you a definate answer on this. I do know that they check your vagina... I'm not sure that they will look at your breasts this young. I highly doubt they will be looking at your booty. Don't take my word on this, I have never been to a gynecologist.
The most I can tell you is to try to stay calm. If your doctor is male and you'd feel more comfortable if it were a woman, you can request that.
LadyGoodman answered Friday December 23 2005, 3:06 pm: What they do during one of these check-ups sounds really strange and awkward, but it really isn't so bad. To make sure there are no strange lumps on your boobs, they briefly expose them and poke around at them a bit. It takes all of 30 seconds, if that, then they cover them back up with the gown. They also look at your vagina. You put your feet on these stirrups so that your legs are spread apart the whole time. They put something in your vagina to hold it open, but it's not very big and as long as you let yourself relax it shouldn't be that uncomfortable, just a bit cold since it's metal. They put a q-tip like thing up there to get a cell sample so they can test it to see that everything is fine and normal. They don't do anything to your butt, though.
They know that for younger girls this experience can be really uncomfortable and strange so they're usually pretty gentle and understanding. Feel free to ask questions. Anytime they're doing something you don't understand, ask. I went when I was 15 for the first time and it really wasn't so bad... I came out of it wondering what all the hype was about and why girls get so scared about it. Just make sure to relax and you'll be fine! :) [ LadyGoodman's advice column | Ask LadyGoodman A Question ]
kevin1986 answered Friday December 23 2005, 11:15 am: I really don't know because I am a guy and have never had a girlie check up. They're probably gunna look at your vagina and your boobs, but what will they do exactly? Never had an inspection like that. I know with guys the doc grabs your balls and tells you to cough. We get the old finger-up-the-ass which feels pretty shitty if I do say so myself. You should be ok at your check up. Don't be embarrassed. [ kevin1986's advice column | Ask kevin1986 A Question ]
hco_babe answered Friday December 23 2005, 11:10 am: well on your first visit they will only ask you questions like if you're sexually active and some other stuff like that. usually they don't inspect you, unless you have done a ton of stuff and you really need to be checked out on your first visit. if you are sexually active, they will do some tests on you. they check your boobs for any weird lumps. then they do a pap smear. it helps to see if there is any abnormalties in your cervix. the exams arent bad at all. they usually take your weight, blood pressure, and all that. then they have you lie down and inspect by putting a metal or plastic speculum into your vagina. it doesnt hurt (since youre already sexually active) they'll take a cotton ball and swab it to test your cervical cells, and they might put a finger or two to feel for ovaries. some doctors do the "bum" thing but most dont. = ) here are some tips for before you go. when making the appointment, ask for a girl if at all possible. its must more comfortable that way. try to go between periods. (when youre not on your period) and try to abstain from intercourse 48 hours before the exam. sorry this was so long. dont worry, youll be fine! no big deal. im always here for you if you need anything. Mackenzie answered Friday December 23 2005, 10:40 am: If by "girly", you mean you have a trip to the Gynecologist, then I honestly can't tell you what will happen, seeing as how I've never experienced that, either. But what I can do is give you a few links that might assist with the easing your mind:

I can understand how you're nervous, and that's perfectly fine. Infact, they're expecting you to be nervous. Chances are that once they discover it is your first visit, they will do all that they can to make your experience there as comfortable for you as possible. I think an important thing to remember is that these doctors have seen thousands of bare human bodies. Since they've already seen it all, there's not much that will surprise them. They will go into this appointment with a professional mind, don't worry. (=

Chicken_flavored_eggs answered Friday December 23 2005, 9:19 am: When I had to go to my first female doctor, I was scared, nervous, self-conscious, you name it. What I didn't realize then is that these doctors look a naked women all day. This isn't some sort of pleasurable thing. Doctors are trained to see body parts and not associate any sexual meaning to them or for attachment to the people to whom the parts belong. Your doctor, will have seen thousands of vagina's before he/she has seen yours. Think of all the creepy old ladies or the really skanky ladies that have come through there....ewwww. That helped me get over some of my awkwardness.
Yes, your doctor will look at your vagina. He will look at your breasts and probably give you a breast exam. Even though you are very young and probably don't need one, they are doing this to cover everything. A breast exam is where the doctor presses around each breast in a circular motion looking for abnormalites. It shouldn't hurt, but if your breasts are tender it might.
Your doctor will also give you a pelvic exam and probably a pap test. This is the whole looking at your vagina part. You will have to lay toward the end of the doctors table with your legs spread outward. They have a place to put your feet so it isn't too uncomfortable. Your doctor will insert a scope like thing into your vagina. It is cold, but it doesn't really hurt. He/she uses this to check out your cervix. I can't remember what it is called at the moment, but I will remember on my way to work, I know I will. Anyway, after that your doctor will probably insert two fingers into your vagina and press down on your lower stomach. what they are doing is checking out your uterus. It dosen't really feel like anything, you mostly just feel pressure.
The Pap exam is when they take a larger than normal Q-Tip and swab your cervix. They send the swab to a lab and check for abnormalties.
That is about it, the exam only lasts about 10 minutes or less and you might be sore afterwards. I was and had some slightly weak cramping feeling. It doesn't last very long.
The worst part is waiting in the doctors office for them to get there and get it over with. Once you have done it, it really isn't that bad. It gets easier each time you do it. Good luck and just realx. You make the exam that much more difficult if you clench your muscles. If you have a walk man or ipod, take it and listen to music to help calm you down. Or your favorite magazine to read during. [ Chicken_flavored_eggs's advice column | Ask Chicken_flavored_eggs A Question ]
Melanie4981 answered Friday December 23 2005, 8:49 am: Hiya,
I grew up in Spain and the UK, but when we had our first girly checks they didn't actually "touch" anything, they just asked lots of questions about how we/I thought my body was.
I really wouldn't stress yourself out about it sweetheart, they can't do anything you don't want them to anyway.
If you feel uncomfortable about anything then ask them to stop, and you ALWAYS have the right to ask for a female nurse/doctor/gynae.
xOchErrytWistOx answered Friday December 23 2005, 6:57 am: I think you are talking about going to the gyno. Bascially, its not that bad. They are really nice and kind especially when its your first time and they make you feel less nervous. I dont think they will do anything to your "bum" but they might feel your boobs for any lumps or anything like that. Don't worry! Also, if you want you can bring a friend to sit with you or your mother if you aRe that nervous. You shouldnt feel embarrassed because these doctors spend their lives looking at vaginas and its no different then the first patient or the one after you.

The_MoUsY_spell_checker answered Friday December 23 2005, 4:52 am: I'm not really sure because I've never had a check up myself. I think they will have to check your vagina and boobs if you're having a gynaecological check up, because that's what that kind of check up is supposed to check, but according to Wikipedia, virgins are not usually examined vaginally.
