so im 15, and i've been wearing tampons for quite a while now, and well ive never done this, but ive always wondered if you can pee while the tampon is still in you? because when i try to, it feels like its being pressured out, so i just take it out while i pee and just put a new tampon in..
muffinbutt answered Wednesday December 21 2005, 3:07 pm: The urethra is an entirely different tube than the vagina, so it's possible -- indeed easy -- to pee while you're wearing a tampon. I think the sensation you're experiencing may come from the position you sit in when you pee -- sitting, legs spread like that and straining, is probably flexing some muscles that are making the tampon move around. But it shouldn't come out. [ muffinbutt's advice column | Ask muffinbutt A Question ]
yourperfectdisaster answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 3:38 pm: Yeah, actually you can. The tampon goes in a different place then where you pee out of, so really it's not affecting it. That feeling you're getting is probably just a mental thing. It WON'T come out unless (1) It's not in properly, or (2) You pull it out. And I'm sure you are doing it properly, since you've been using them for awhile now. The only thing is--Just hold the string out of the way when you pee, so it doesn't get wet =) [ yourperfectdisaster's advice column | Ask yourperfectdisaster A Question ]
GaleMomOfSix answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 2:40 pm: Dear 15,
Yes you can. Your urination area is a separate hole from your vaginal opening. Tampons feel like they are being forced out because you tend to tighten your muscles during urinating. I like to change every time I go pee just because it seems like a good idea [ GaleMomOfSix's advice column | Ask GaleMomOfSix A Question ]
naimee answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 2:31 pm: Yes I can. It'll take a while to get used to the feeling of having a tampon in & peeing. But you should be able to. [ naimee's advice column | Ask naimee A Question ]
