what kind of sickness is this?

Question Posted Tuesday December 20 2005, 2:34 pm

As of Friday, i've been real sick. I took a nap all afternoon, and when i woke up I felt all dizzy. the only time i would feel good is when i have my head down. and right when i get up, i feel all dizzy again. then at points i kept gagging, but never threw up. and i kept burbing alot too.. until yesterday, i started having real bad diahrea, and my dizzyness and gagging has slowed down. but im still getting much headaches and stomach aches... does anyone know what is wrong with me?

my mom has just been telling me to take some medicine.. and that doesnt even work!

Well where I live, oregon coast, there's this nasty virus going around... it starts in the head and you have a sinus like condition then it moves down into the digestive tract and you feel nauseated and then it travels down into the intestinal tract and you'll have running stools.... I take herbal things for my virus... and it seems to work.... but also, because this virus is a nasty one.... just when you think you're over it and feel really well again, it starts all over again..... good luck, I suggest you seek help from either a working herb store in your area or perhaps an Oriental doctor if you have them where you are.... earth's plants can heal these issues....

Apparantly I'm not the only one. Well for me it only last from 3am throughout that day and by fourth period the next day I was dizzy agian. It happens to me EVERY December but only lasts about a day. For you it sounds like the flu, I am NOT a doctor so for all I know it could be more or less serious. I suggest if you haven't already to convince your mother to take you to see a doctor. For now I suggest doing what I did though. I slept as much as I could, ya know getting up every ten seconds to either puke (yeah eww) or dry heeves (the gagging but not throwing up) I suggest after about an HOUR maybe 30 minutes minimum (I waited less and threw it back up) to have a sip of water. And I was only able to get down about half a salteen cracker without feeling the need to uhh get... "sick" haha.
Umm here, I'll give you a link to my question I got a few good answers on what you can eat/drink and stuff like that. I do suggest though SLEEP!! And use a LOT of blankets, it always helps to sweat out whatever you have. I wouldn't take any medicine for something you don't know the problem to. I mean headaches and stuff yeah it's okay to take the medicine because you know what's wrong, but sickness like this, the medicing could be worse. I learned today in biology that if you take medicine and take it in the incorrect dosage or don't take it as instructed that it could make you less immune to what is hurting you and could be worse for you. But again, I'm not a doctor, I can not tell you what is wrong, all I can do is say SEE A DOCTOR!!
Here's the link to the question I had asked,
[Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
I hope this helps you out!! Still my biggest suggestions are SLEEP and SEE A DOCTOR ASAP!!

that sounds like the flu to me or something along those lines. you best bet is to not take anything! unless the doctor told you to and keep drinking just like gatoraid. if you mom wont take you to the doc at least call them and they can give you some ideas on what to do

You might just have the flu.
The reason your getting dizzy is because its your bodys way of telling you to rest. (Thats what my doctor told me two years ago when I passed out when I had the flu.)
So just stay in bed and get lots of rest. Don't forget to take vitamin C.
Try to not each much meat, because it takes alot of energy for your body to break meat down and you need that energy to get well.

Hope you get well soon.

Hey! Well, it sounds like you have some sort of flu. What you need to do is take your temperature (that will give you a better idea of what you have). My mom's answer to almost every illness is to drink lots (and lots) of water, and get plenty of rest! Try to eat food like dry cereal and breads (foods that won't upset your stomach). I hope you feel better soon!
