ok my dad does weed and i just know my mom does it too. and well they are always saying how much they hate people that do drugs and here they do it. well i hear that if your parents smoke and stuff well the kids are liable to start and well i smoke ciggaretts and my parents dont know about it. my point is will i start doing drugs since they do? an help will work thanks jennie

you probaly wont do drugs if you keep your mind focused on how drugs can destroy family, people, and lives. just do good things hun. just cause your parents do something doesnt mean you will. if deep in your heart you feel something is wrong dont do it. trust me i have watched peoples lives be destroyed over drugs and its so not worth it. hang in there and keep an anti drug attitude. you will get further in life without it.

Just because your parents do something doesn't necessarily mean you have to. Why do you smoke? Really think about that question. Genetics does play a big role in our lives, but there's always things that we can do to change. You always have the power to break the cycle if you stand strong.

The apple does not fall far from the tree. Atleast that is what some people might say. Instead of asking us what we think, why don't you ask yourself? Do you think that you will follow in they're footsteps with drugs? That is a choice that you have to make. It is not left up to chance, you decide. You are the decisions that you have made in the past. Think about it. It's a shame that your parents are doing drugs; but it's an even bigger shame if you don't stop the cycle. No, that's just some kind of majority. a lot of kids i know whos parents do these things don't. it's still a decision you make, not one they make for you. my dad's mom smoked ciggs and he never did...i can think of at least 10 more cases where it doesn't apply so don't do drugs.. its not worth it. <3

No it don't mean you will start. If you have a good head on your shoulders then you won't. Just know the effects of drugs and if you do that might scare you enough not even to expierment with drugs. Let me let you in on a little background from my life. In 1996 when I was just 5 years old my parents divorced. This was April 1st. So yes, April Fool's day is a bad day of the month. Then I moved from place to place (but still same little town that no one has heard of)
Well my mom won custody over me and my dad was truck driver. I never got to see him and it really killed me not having a dad around. Then my dad got involved with some lately in around 1997 and we lived in this BIG house about 30 miles from where my mom lived. My dad and his girlfriend around 1999 got hooked on Cocain. Unfortunatly no one knew. Well My Dad had two kids. Me and my little brother who is only a year and 1/2 younger than me. And his girlfriend had two daughters on my age and the other about 5 years older. Well me and the girl that was my age were really close. And one day we were (this was around 2001) getting in the tack room to get brushes for our horses and we saw this stuff in the floor.. I don't know if you know what 'Coke' looks like but it is this white powdery substance that smells HORRIBLE! Well my dad was REALLY REALLY MEAN cuz of the stuff but it never got so bad he beat us but if we didn't tell my mother than it might have. Mom came and got me, brother,and my friend/sister (in a way) and we went to my mom's. This was July 4th 2001. And although I was only 11 I was exposed to drugs. I might not have known what it was but I did learn and I never got hooked on it or anything and so the saying "if your parents smoke and stuff well the kids are liable to start" isn't really true. Anyways.. after that my dad and his "girlfriend" broke up and my dad quit driving the truck.. and was put in some rehab center, then moved in with his mom so he wouldn't start agian.. knowing my dad was a druggy really really ruined my life. So now my dad is better and is driving the truck for a cop so he won't start again.. I am just fine with a good head on my shoulders and if you ever need to talk about anything I am here to help. I hope this gave you hope on NOT having a chance to have a chance to try or get addicted to weed. The smoking thing. You prolly know its bad for you and all that crap so I will not lecture you on that but smoking may lead on to expiermenting with other substances so just be careful!

yes it is known that if your parents do drugs you will but you can stop yourself by not doing it, saying no. just dont go places that you will be asked to smoke if you cant say no. but just say no and you dont have 2 do it if u dont want

If you are strong person with morals and values, then no you won't start. Just think of all the bad weed does for you. You shouldn't even be smoking! That's terrible for your health. As long as you don't even think about it, don't do it.

im soooooooo amazingly sorry. your in such a complicated situation. drugs are awful and they ruin lives. just b/c your family members may do drugs doesnt mean that you will. everyone is in control of their decisions and should not give into peerpressure. try nicorette and take up more hobbies to stop smoking! i mean, who wants brown teath or bad breath when they get old?

Well..a percentage of that is true. You can choose either NOT to do it..or to do it. It's your decision. It's not a fact that if your parents do drugs, you will for certain do it...but I see you're on the path. Cigarettes are really unhealthy for you and can increase your chance of lung cancer, etc. I'm not here to baby you and tell you what to do with your life though..so that's all I'll say about the hazards of smoking---My dad smokes cigarettes..but I don't..I choose not to because I know it will put me in danger of everything-my life.
Your question is "Will I start doing drugs since they do?"....It's not hereditary, you know. Decide for yourself if you want to do weed or not..(I really don't think you should though...but that's not my decision to make for you.)You can decide how you want to spend the rest of your life..smoking, being unhealthy, being at risks for many diseases, ruining your body,ruining your appearance,slowly killing yourself OR you can have a happy, healthy life.

umm it depends if someone pressures you into doing drugs or you just want to try it because your paretns do it... i think you should stay away from them when they do it.... and i think you should stop smoking ciggaretts because it could end up leading into doing drugs... and you will definately have problems when you get older and you dont want to die young from smoking... so hope i hepled XoDoNnAxO
