Question Posted Saturday December 10 2005, 5:04 pm

I'm pretty sure i'm a christian. But i sometimes doubt God and if he's there or not. Does this mean that, if i like... died tomorrow, i would go to hell. Am i not allowed to doubt God? It seems like the only people who are considered religious are the ones like "i'm sure he's real b/c i've read his word and i believed it" but... i'm a very doubtfull person and i can't just believe things like that. Does this mean i'm not going to Heaven?

Once you've asked Jesus to come into your heart, you'll always be saved no matter what. It's absolutely normal to have some doubts in your walk as a Christian. Some verses I found when I've been going through times of doubt that really helped me were John 20:25, Psalms 14:1, Psalms 13:1, Mark 9:19-24, John 20:27 and James 4:8. Hope I helped!!

Yeah, that's how I figure too. Sometimes I doubt god, I'm sure everybody does. Even the most religious person on earth, but still. I don't think you're going to go to hell for doubting god, I mean, it's not like you're going to die tomorrow anyways, I mean, not usually, heh. Yeah, I'm a very doubtful person indeed. But if you're doubting Jesus then you're doubting heaven which means your not sure if that's true or not, you know?

The thing is, there are thousands of religions that aren't christianity. Who's to say the afterlife is what christianity prescribes it as?

Frankly, a deity that bases my life worth on whether I believe in him or not is not one worth believing in. Just be a good person and eat your vegetables, and you'll be just fine.

naimee answered Saturday December 10 2005, 7:09 pm:
Honestly, I'm atheist. I don't believe in a Heaven or Hell. I don't believe in God or the Devil. I believe when you die, you die. Nothing happens AT ALL! It's just unbelievable to believe that when you die somethings going to happen. I think God is a lame excuse for how the earth was made.

How was it made? I don't know. But, honestly I don't care if people hate me because of my beliefs. There are so many opinions to this subject. You believe in what you want to believe. I think that it's right you're a doubtful person, everyone get confused about this. And no one exactly knows what is going to happen when you die.

But, no. It doesn't mean you won't go to "Heaven" and it doesn't mean that nothing will happen to you when you die. :)

It is human nature to question God and religion. I believe that you have a right to information on other religions and you SHOULD be able to do research and find something you really believe.

I honestly believe in God. I think there has to be a higher diety that created the world. There's just no other explination.

Okay, onto another subject-- Homosexuality. I am a female whos attracted to females. Does that mean i'll go to Hell? I honestly don't know. But I kjnow its just how I feel and I can't help it. I mean I can choose to act upon it or not, I guess. But why should you have to choose to act upon homosexual feelings?

If you can act on heterosexual feelings and have that be okay, why can't you love someone of the same gender? Why isn't it about LOVE, why is it made to be about gender?

In accepting who I was, I had a huge "I'm going to hell and I hate myself" phase, which i'm not entirely out of. I am questioning weather or not a person really CAN be gay, ect. I just don't know.

How CAN someone know?

You just can not simply know. You have to decide what you truley believe. And I don't think there's anything wrong with believe in something. Untill it gets to the point that you think ONLY your beliefs are correct. That's not good.

I hope I helped, and feel free to contact me individually.

Nah, you can doubt God. Religious people will say that God gave people a choice, they could pick whether they wanted to believe in Him or not. Somebody on another question explained that you can't believe in God unless you research all your options and question your faith. Personally, I'm not religious, but I am open to any and every religion and don't think that any one is best. One time my grandmother told me that you only go to Hell if you believe in it, and I agree with her. So if you end up deciding that you're not a Christian and you don't believe in Hell, then you can't go there after you die. Don't listen to people who say "You n00b u don't believe in God you're going to hell!!!!11!!" because how do THEY know? They're not GOD. They're human just like you and me and they're just trying to make you feel bad. Having some self doubt is healthy. Believe whatever you want!! =D

peace&love,
tasuki

You are what they call agnostic, which simply means one who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism. You will not go to Hell if you died tomorrow because you still do believe in him. No one can surely know if God is real. You just have to have faith in him. You won't go to Hell because you don't worship Satan. Don't worry.

It's perfectly normal to doubt God sometimes.
Alot of people do once in a while.
I personally don't believe there is really a Hell.
I believe that no matter who you are you are still going to heaven.
But that is just my opinion.
Just because you may doubt God once in a while does not make you a bad person and does not mean you are going to Hell.

its totally normal to doubt god, we all do but you just have to talk to him and pray for him to help you:) and he will help you if you let him. it is a sin, but he will forgive you if you ask for his forgiveness, believe in him, read his word, share his word and talk to him about your problems, but not just the stuff you help with, remember to thank him for the stuff he does to:) well i hope i helped! and i hope you grow in your relationship with jesus and ill be praying for you! god bless-have a good christmas

HectorJr answered Saturday December 10 2005, 5:22 pm:
No of course not - it's natural to doubt God and parts of your religion. You are expected to. Remember the story of the shepherd and the 100 sheep? One went astray while the other 99 would stay, and he went to go look for that 1 missing sheep. When he found it he carried it on his back to his place and rejoiced - God will do the same: rejoice over 1 repented person than 99 ones where already righteous. No you will not go to hell for having doubts, everyone does - it's what makes us human. Don't force yourself to believe, but rather find it in yourself to convince yourself on your own [sorry if that doesn't make sence]. In other words - don't feel that you have to believe no matter, but rather believe because you truly do believe. It takes time to believe, and you have plenty of that. We were given free will for a reason - to believe or deny as we please. Maybe you might find it easier to believe and have faith if you keep your eyes open and see how it is that God works in your life. Hope that helped and feel better.

Religion is a touchy topic to some. I don't believe that you would be denied going to heaven because you have doubts. At times it is good to question things. The thing that you have to conclude for yourself is this: do you just not believe in God or is it that you don't believe in any entity that would be omnipotent (all knowning)? You being doubtfull I'm sure comes from a certain place, for that no one can tell you that you are wrong. I believe that if you are true to your religion, whichever it may be, that you will be allowed into heaven.

if you dont believe in God..
then try asking him something.
and ask him for a response.
he'll answer.. but if he doesnt juss give it time.
but if you dont really believe in him.. then you'll go to hell. but if you ask for his forgiveness.. then you'll go to heaven.
