same clothing

Question Posted Sunday November 13 2005, 8:55 pm

a girl in my grade named anne, whom i know (I am friendly with her, but not really friends) told a friend of mine (elle) about these pants, and then elle told me about them. i went to the store & i really like the pants. they are very distinct jeans with flowers all over them. i really want them, but anne has them already. would it be bad for me to get these jeans? anne isn't in any of my classes, and she's a nice girl, but i still don't know if it's okay (I AM NOT GOING TO ASK HER). i see her on occasion at the end of the day. these aren't just any pants, they are very cool with flowers down the leg & on the butt. do you think anne would get mad? do you think elle would be like "you bought those pants after i told you where they are from & anne already has them!" do you think anyone would be mad or do you think it's okay to buy the pants? THEY ARE SO COOL!

I don't think she'd be mad. She sounds nice enough, and it shoudln't be offensive to her if you own the same pair of pants as her. I would take it as a compliment that someone would want to wear the same kind of pants as me. If she didn't want someone to see the pants, she wouldn't've told your friend. I think it's perfeclty okay to buy the pants. If you like them (which you obviously do), go for it!

Go ahead and get them. She sounds nice and i dont think i have ever heard of people getting in a fight over having the same clothes. If she does get mad tell her she should'nt be mad because it shows that she has a good sence of style.

if they are at a store that a lot of people shop at..and you've shopped at before, you shouldn't even feel guilty buying them.
if they are really unique (it says on the site that they are rare) and you can't get them at a store many people go to..you can stlil get them if you like them..but girls do have a thing about having the same clothing as someone else if its something unique.
do what you want. its just a pair of pants.

i honestly dont like buying clothes that i know people already have, but thats just me. however, if someone i know buys the same pants i have, i wouldnt care. the pants r cute and i think you should buy them if you really like them. dont be afraid of anne or anyone else getting mad because your entitled to do what you want.

i think you should get them.. if your still kinda eehhh about that.. just get pants with a similar design on them or something.

if they want to be immature and get mad because of your pants.. you need new friends anyway

Okay heres my take on it. If you want the pants, get the pants. But I personally get annoyed when girls go out and buy the same clothes as me. I dont get mad but I hate having the same clothes as other people. And if Anne already has the pants, then to otherpeople they arent going to be as cute, and Instead of hearing "Oh I love your pants" you are going to hear "Oh Anne has those pants". And I would rather go out and find a cool pair of pants that no one has. But go ahead and get them if you want them still. It could be seen as copying though.

TheTeenGirl answered Sunday November 13 2005, 9:15 pm:
You've got to understand that niether Elle or Anne make the rules of what you are or aren't allowed to wear. It doesn't work that way, if you like the jeans, you buy them, Anna or Elle have no say in it. They both told you about the jeans, how could they get upset if they told you about how neat they were? They can't. I don't understand why you are asking if you can buy jeans that you like just because someone else has those exact same jeans. If they get upset, tough luck for them, they are the ones who told you about them, so they are at fault if they didn't want you to get the jeans, and they are worth less than a pair of jeans if they get upset with you. Remember, if you want them, you buy them! Nobody else decides for you!

I don't think they would be mad. Do you know how many people have the same clothing as other people? A LOT. My opinion...NO BIG DEAL. You never see her anyway, right? That would be really mean and unnecessary if your 'friend' every said that. What kind of friend does that? BUY them. As you said, you're not buying them because your friend told you about them and you just want to copy Anne. You're buying them because "THEY ARE SO COOL!" =)

I think you should buy the pants. it seems you really like them and they sound really cool. So i think you shoudl get them. dont worry about what elle says and dont care what any one else says or thinks. dont not buy them bc someone else already had them, they seem popular so alot of girls are gonna buy thgem anyway. dont not get something you really want just bc you are worried that someone else has them or they already have them, i know how you feel bc it happens all the time. so i think you should get them.

good luck!!

Why would they be mad? I mean they're just really cool jeans. Since Anne is a nice girl, I don't think she would mind. Plus, it's not like she made the jeans and no one else is allowed to have them but her. If she does get mad then she is being immature. I also don't think Elle would be mad because if she is your friend she wouldn't say anything to you about it. The only thing matters is if you like the jeans, go ahead and get them. People won't be mad, it's just your personal taste.
