Hysterical crying

Question Posted Thursday October 27 2005, 6:08 pm

This morning my dad got angry at me. The reason isn't really important. He threw the waffle that was eating at my shirt and got butter all over me. I was upset because he had the nerve to throw a waffle at me, and also because I was excited to wear the outfit that I had picked out to school. I started crying and I couldn't stop. Keep in mind that I have my period now. I was still crying when I got out of the car, and still crying when I was in homeroom. Of course, everyone was staring at me and wondering why my eyes were all puffy. My teacher suggested I go to the nurse, so I did and stayed there for half of first period. I was really happy by the time I was surrounded by my friends. First of all, I felt like an idiot because the people in my homeroom knew how upset I was in the morning, and then saw me laughing my head off with my friends two periods later. I just feel so stupid and I can't for the life of me understand why I was crying so much!! I know I have my perios, but I've never got PMS this severe before!! HELP PLEASE!! Has anyone beed throuhg an awkward situation like this?

I would say you probably were upset because you were not expecting your Father to do something to that level and it surprised and hurt you. People do stupid thing sometimes, maybe something bad happened to him and he wrongfully took it out on you. Did you talk to him, telling him how much he hurt your feelings?

From your dad gettig angry at you and throwing the waffle at you to you having your period really got you rowled up, but dont let what people say or think affect you. You were going through your little sad stage, and your friends cheered you up. It dosnt matter what other people think, all that matters was you got over how you were feeling and moved on with the rest of the day.

The waffle abuse has got to stop. Dad wasted a perfectly good waffle on your shirt.
Secondly, welcome to the wonderful world of menstruation. You should fit right in on the crazy train.
But what's up with your dad? I'm really peeved about the waffle! I love a buttery waffle.
Men are affraid of "the period". Use this to get your dad to buy you a new butter-free shirt.

When you are on your period you are prone to be extra emotional (as you already know). PMS causing mood swings can vary--I know when I'm on my period I cry about the small things sometimes too. Your dad shouldn't have thrown his food at you either--that is irresponsible as a parent. Know that you are an extremely normal female to be going through this emotional rollercoaster.

Haha oh god, don't worry about it. I've always found PMS varies in strength for me- sometimes barely there at all, other times i sob, cut people to pieces and get uncontrollable urges to hit things.

I'm sure no-one will say anything (they'll be too scared! :)). If they do just look menacing and tell them to just wait for the next bout.

Also, throwing a waffle at yo is...a bit pathetic actually. I can understand why you'd be upset but try to brush it off and remember that guys never truly grow up.

Take care

it's really not a big deal... give it a week & every1 will forget about it... ive had a few emotional break-downs due to my period in the past... what your dad did wasn't cool... & you cryin over it is understandable... it happens to the best of us...

Oh yes the dreaded PMS. I remember it well.

I am such a mellow person that growing fangs once a month was torture. Totally unlike me.
Luckily I only had it one day a month, if I had it at all.

It was always little things that set me off too. Don't let it bother you to much. Joke about it so others don't get to offended by it and you will be fine.
