Yeah, it's normal. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I know people that have had it for many years & it still doesn't come every month. It just depends on your body & such. Plus, you being athletic makes it come less as well.

if your BMI is under 18.5, then that's why you're not getting your period.

type in your height and weight. then it'll calculate how much fat you have on your body, basically. it's okay if you don't get your period. girls usually aren't normal in their cycle for a few years. your body needs enough fat and nutrients and stuff to have it's period.

Sometimes when you are athletic you dont get your period. Also if you are stressed you may not get it either. I am a hard-core cheerleader (yup there is such a thing) and I miss my period sometimes, especially near a competition. Dont worry, your mom is right.

Hope it Helps!

Calm down, relax, breathe and know you are fine. I hate the world normal. Who the hell is normal anyways? What is normal to one is not to another. Toss the word normal and the idea of it out of your heads nobody is that word. None that I meet anyway.

As far as your question goes when your friends got their periods do not matter. They all have different DNA and genetics than you do. Genes determine when you get your period and cycle.

For now, your cycle has not established itself as regular. You are on an irregular cycle. It will iron out eventually and is perfectly fine. Be sure to always have pads or tampons around and relax.

Yes, it's normal. The first 3-4 years you get your period it will not come time. Also, when you are into alot of activities, it can delay your period. So what your going through is very normal ! Anytime !

Yes that is normal. You really have nothing to worry about though. Everyone has irregular periods. Physical activities, diets , depression and stress can cause it not to come every month. Since you are healthy then it's normal.
