icey0990 answered Friday August 12 2005, 1:03 am: high school can be awesome and sucky at the same time.
like, with school..things can get so stressful that you feel like just quitting and stuff (for me anyway) but then again..its so great because you really form relationships (friends, and bfs/gfs) you have all kinds of great times hangin out with friends..memories, meeting new people, getting into some innocent mischief :)
dont freak out..it can be filled with drama and stuff..but then again friends, meeting new people, having a good time makes it good
so you shouldnt totally freakd out about it..its not hoorrrible.
then again, high school works liek this: if you get a bad rep..like if your an outcast, smelly, do drugs, become a slut, etc..high school can reallyy suck for you ...
if your all popular and stuff..it could be so great.
i guess im in the middle..i have awesome friends..high school has been pretty good ssocially..but as far as schoolwork goes..it gets overwhelming and annoying at times.
bsktballchick45 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 11:23 pm: I think ur overreacting. I'm a sophomore and I love high school! My first day I was a little nervous, but once you get used to it it's great.
-There is more homework, but just pay attention in class, take notes, and do all the homework.
-Be nice to people, don't judge right away, and try to make more friends.
-Join clubs and after-school activities.
-Be calm and have fun.
Wowitzbrit answered Thursday August 11 2005, 10:05 pm: Over reacting. I was freaking out the first day of high school, but it's really nothing to worry about. It might be different at my school, but it wasn't like all the upperclassmen were picking on us or whatever. But just think you have your whole freshman class to back you up if someone messes with you cause your a freshman right. [ Wowitzbrit's advice column | Ask Wowitzbrit A Question ]

Shortcake22 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 8:55 pm: Okay I love this question
I was a freshman last year. In junior high I went to a small school and there were about 38 people in my grade. Then for highschool, I switched to a big school with about 500 kids in my class. so I had a double whammy lol
But trust me. It was the best year I ever had. High school is sooo much better than junior high. Its awesome.
Just remember
*dont talk trash about people. The upperclassmen wont like you if you bring a lot of drama. Neither will the other freshman.
*be nice to everyone and give everyone a chance
*dont blow off your homework and always take notes. (trust me on this one)
*stay out of trouble. You dont want to be pegged as a bad kid in your freshman year.
*join a club or sport if you are not already in one.
*participate in school spirit week. you are not to cool to partake in the activities

azngemini answered Thursday August 11 2005, 7:45 pm: i'm going to highschool in september, and i cant wait!! i dont think it's going to suck because highschool should be like the best/most interesting years of your life. i mean like, we always hear about "highschool reunions" but never like middle school reunions, or college reunions. i dont think you should freak out about highschool because everytime i freak out over somethin, it turns out to be not as bad as i thought it would be. instead you should just relax... be more laid back.. talk to people, make new friends, and you'll be having a great time.
ballerina04 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 7:42 pm: I'll be going into high school in the fall. I think it's completely normal to be worried about it (I know I am), but you shouldn't be freaking out, really.
I believe high school is definitely how you make it out to be. If you don't get involved and open yourself up to try new clubs and meet new people, then it won't be that great of an experience. But if you do get involved and open up, they can be a great 4 years. [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]

xXxpinky615xXx answered Thursday August 11 2005, 7:11 pm: Well it depends. Are you a guy or a girl? Because if you're a guy, expect hazing to come your way. The upperclassmen will pick on you alot the first few weeks, threaten to throw you in trashcans and stupid stuff like that. But no one ever does anything to the girls. So if you're a chick, you're safe. HOWEVERRRR might I add that highschool changes people insanely. I was a freshman last year and I lost like... all of my friends. But the good thing is you make new ones and those are stronger friendships. Here's a quote I want you to keep in mind when entering HS. It's by Paris Hilton. Even though I hate her, I actually agree with this quote:
