AdviceGiver135 answered Saturday August 13 2005, 12:21 am: Well I'd stay away from any sleeping pills or anything like that. Buy a water fall/ soft sounds player. It really does help you fall asleep. Or put something really boring on T.v. or on the radio. [ AdviceGiver135's advice column | Ask AdviceGiver135 A Question ]
ncblondie answered Thursday August 11 2005, 11:15 pm: Taking a Benadryl or Tylenol PM before bed will help. Over the counter sleeping pills may also help but they're generally not recommended since they can have serious side effects. You might try an herb called Valerian. It relaxes you helping you fall asleep. I take it myself for insomnia. [ ncblondie's advice column | Ask ncblondie A Question ]
HectorJr answered Thursday August 11 2005, 9:55 pm: I tried doing crunches before I went to sleep. Made me tired and a little bit easier to just relax and fall asleep.
Doing things during the day, like physical activity could also make it easier to fall asleep at night. Also, try not to eat too much before you go to sleep.
Going to sleep early would also help. Getting to bed and actually getting to sleep are two different things. Try not to think about stuff too much when you are in bed. Worry about tommorrow not at night, but tommorrow. Try sleeping with two pillows, one, or none. Try different combinations to see which one works best. Good luck. DeeSireDiOr answered Thursday August 11 2005, 5:35 pm: Hey
Yeah. You can buy Sleep Aids. Basically they are Soothing tape sounds
include ocean, rain, brook, heartbeat, soft sound outdoors and just about anything else.
But in the the meantime, here are a few things you can do to help yourself with your problem:
Reduce caffeine and sugar intake at night. Both act as stimulants, and the sugar can also make it difficult to get up in the morning.
Try using an alarm clock to remind you to GO to sleep. It is very important that you get enough sleep at night to get you through the next day.
Check your breathing. Remember to breathe. Deep breathing helps to relax your entire body and reduce muscle tension.

karenR answered Thursday August 11 2005, 5:27 pm: One thing that I read about and tried that really works...strange as it seems:
Turn around and sleep at the opposite end of the bed. In other words put your head where you usually put your feet. I have no idea why this works, maybe its just something different. Sweet dreams. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
