AngelKMC65 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 8:28 pm: too make the scar smaller put HOT water on it. Then you can use whatever like clearsil, nutrogena, etc. The hot water also helps get dirt off your face. [ AngelKMC65's advice column | Ask AngelKMC65 A Question ]

azngemini answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 8:17 pm: i think you mean the Neutrogena Acne Fading Peel. it says that it helps fade away acne scars and treats acne. i think it kind of works, but i also use Neutrogena Visibly Even moisturizer to help fade away dark spots from past acne, so i really cant tell. i've heard that it works really well, if you use it like 3 times a week or so, but others say that it doesnt do anythin except dry up your skin. i dont know if it really helped me or not, but i like using it... i got it at target for like 12 bucks..
FrEe2bMe answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 7:57 pm: Well, first, for acne scars there is not too much you can do but there is one thing that can help it a little but. Cocoa Butter. it is used for a lot of different things. You are probably the most familiar with the lotion for which helps with stretch marks, but there is also a Cocoa Butter (Palmers is the brand) stick you can use. This is safe to apply to your face. It's not too costly and is available at any local drug or grocery store.
As far as the acne..there are TONS of things you can use:
-Make sure you are washing all of you make-up off and washing your face well.
-Try using a *sensitive skin* astringent (like Sea Breaze, also avalible at local drugstores) to help get off excess dirt and oil which causes breakouts.
-Over the counter creams SOMETIMES work depending on the severity..you can try something like Nature's Cure or Clerasil.
-If you see a dermatologist (usually for more severe cases or more than moderate)and ask for both a pill and/or TOPICAL cream with benzol perioxide. Ex: An Emoxycilin pill and a cream like RetinAMicro or Benzaclin. (There are prescriptions)
-For about 30 dollars you can TRY Proactive. It works for a lot of people. It's got 3 different creams/lotions/liquids you apply to your face daily.
-Lastly, you can always try Acne Treatment Facials from an upscale salon. These are expensive though.
