i've got that eyeshadow from hot topic. i put it on but my skin color shows up in the middle and applying more makes it very hard to see. (bright green) is there anything i could do to make it bright and stay? All it does is fall over my eyelashes. I heard putting concealer works... does it?

Shortcake22 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 9:37 pm: There is such a thing as eyeshadow base. Its like a cream and it comes in white. Put that on first, so you can see the white, then put the green on over it and it should be very visible. The base is found at makeup counters in department stores [ Shortcake22's advice column | Ask Shortcake22 A Question ]
AquamarineRose answered Thursday August 11 2005, 3:56 pm: You do have to realize that Hot Topic is not known for their makeup. In otherwords, it is not top quality. I personally recommend going to somewhere that is just for makeup, like Sephora, to get eye makeup. It'll cost you, but it'll be worth it. And they do have bright green, I know that because I own some from there. :-D From experience though...mostly every eyeshadow creases in the center.(Which I believe is what you are talking about.)I, myself have never put concealer on my eye lids. But, it would make sense to, because it should absorb some amonut of the natural oils on your eye lids. (Which is why your eyeshadow does this.)Um, what I have tried though, and found to work is...putting loose powder on your eye lids or you can buy a special product called "Eye Base" by Tony&Tina (located at Sephora), which is made for exactly what you want. alwayzurfriend14 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 11:10 pm: the first thing you should do, is just find a clear lipgloss...it doesnt have to be expensive...you can find some at a dollar store (usually)...then dab some on your finger and apply it to your eye. then put on the eye shadow. it usually works. if it doesnt then try the concealer tip! Use your finger/applier and pat it on don't smear it. Pat it all over your eyelid.
xXxpinky615xXx answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 9:17 pm: You can try to use it wet. Whatever you use to apply it, put a little bit of water on it first and then apply it. It should work. That's normally what I do. It makes the color much brighter and "stronger" I guess you could say. [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]
twistedsister17 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 8:06 pm: Yes, liquid concealer makes it stay on longer, and depending on the eye shadow, Might make it show up better. I use this technique all the time. And the more eyeshadow you put on, the more it comes off. See, when you're applying more, you're rubbing off what you already put on. So in a way, less is more. Just try swiping the brush over your eyelid in one or two strokes. Also maybe the eyeshadow just doesn't go weel with your skin tone. If you are really pale/white you should try blues. If your skin is tan/ in the middle, try pinks or browns. And if you have dark dark skin, try purples. And ofcourse there is a shade of brown for everyones skin tone. Sorry I'm babbling on.

one_of_a_kind_chicka answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 7:58 pm: concealer would work at making it stay on longer but it still might not leave it on all day you might have to put it on more than once a day.
xomegaroni answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 7:47 pm: concealer makes it stay longer, because face it..all the stuff you do during the day definately wears it off. i'd say you could use coats of clear make up to make it brighter and then put more green over top. juss try different stuff like that and experiment. if none of that works always have it with you and run into a bathroom to put some more on.
