Start running some and build it up a little each day. Stay consistent with it. Do some crunches, pushups and stuff like that. Keep doing more each day and you'll be surprised with how conditioned you'll end up being before cheerleading even starts!!!

You should try to briskly walk or jog for at least ten minutes each day, or you could bike. Health experts recommend aerobic exercise for 20 minutes three times a week to keep your cardiovascular system in shape. Also, leg lifts, (Like lay on your back or side, and one leg at a time, /slowly/ raise and lower your leg) work great for toning your legs, and crunches work well for your stomach. I do pushups for my arms, but if that doesn't work for you, try lifting 3-5 pound weights, I know it's not a lot, but it helps to tone your arms. When you get done with your workout, march in place for about 5 minutes and stretch again as a cool-down. Good luck with those practices, they sound intense. :)

babiibananax3 answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 4:09 pm: 1st thing you can do is swim...it uses all of muscels between your legs and your arms and its summer so pools are probably easy to access.if your at the beach with friends then have races to see who can run in the water the fastest [[running in water is a lot harder then it sounds]]..if your just sitting around watching tv then start doing crunches and strechting (spelling?) during commercial breaks run around ur house (stairs would be good) challenge yourself to see how many laps or flights you can run before your show gets back...im a figure skater so those things helped me...hope they help you* [ babiibananax3's advice column | Ask babiibananax3 A Question ]
xthisisme14x answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 3:15 pm: first of all august 15 is my birthday.
But back to the topic. The best thing you can do is run, i have played baseball, basketball, ran track, ran cross country, and played a season of football, so i am pretty athletic. But i have found running to be the best way to get in shape, also getting a excercise ball helps build your core muscles quite a bit (your back and mid section maybe.) Personally i hate weights, and i imagine alot of people feel that way, so i do a lot of work with medical tubing, excercise and medicine balls, and mainly running. I feel like those few things will really help put anyone in shape.
iSpEaKsPaNiSh answered Wednesday July 27 2005, 12:57 pm: run. that's always good. if you can't run, walk, but farther. do crunches, leg-lifts, push-ups. stuff like that. if you have comcast, try doing all of those fitness videos they have or get some of your own and do some of those everyday. also, do whatever you think you will be doing at practice. i used to have to run a mile every practice so make sure you can do that. good luck!
