i want to know...
This is the thing. my friend recently had a cold sore. I've heard that the only way you can have a cold sore (even once) is if you have herpes. Does this mean that she has herpes? Answers would be greatly apreciated. Thanks. Will rate high.

NO you don't have herpes just cause you have a cold so you can have herpes type b and not herpes type a (an STD)

No!! it doesn't. there are two kinds of herpes. herpes a is an std. herpes b is a ..i dunno but it's not an STD. chances are..she doesn't have herpes A...if thats what your worried about.

no way! you can get a cold sore even if your as healthy as a horse. almost everyne gets them. dont worry about it. just make sure your friend doesnt kiss anyone bc your friend could give them a cold sore as well.

oh wow no if you get a cold sore it is not from herpes! you have nothing to worry about. i have had alot of cold sores and i went to the doctor for one of them and i was perfectly fine they gave me medican to put on them.

no getting cold sores doesnt mean you have herpies..anyone can get a cold sore even you..you can get them from kissing, sharing drinks, sharing food etc. but it doesnt mean she has herpies!

Yes a cold sore is herpes. There's a site with lots of information ^. Cold sores can't be prevented or cured though.

well i have always heard that it was.... my friend has them all the time and my mom told me NEVER 2 drink after her or use her lipgloss or anything..... and my mom is a gynocologist(sp?)
