Yes they do. Sometimes people are attracted to those qualities which they don't possess. Then, they just complement the other.
Others who are maybe more adventurous may want someone to get out there and climb mountains with each other. I do believe that over time even those who are a lot alike have some differences somewhere. :)

i believe that there is truly only one person in this world for each of us. you have one, and i have one. i just think we all need to take the time out to realy search for that one person. so, regardless of wether opposites attract, i'm positive that similarities attract as well.

absolutely. opposites just don't have enough in common to have a lasting relationship. initially, you'll feel the opposite is very intriguing because you just can't understand them. this creates mystery, which is very appealing. but once that mystery dies out (very soon) then there's just no more "oomph" to keep the relationship going. no magical sparkle. no interest will be generated. people who share the same interests stay together longer.

Opposites do attract because it's meeting someone totally new and likes different things which brings you to like them. People who are alike also attract because you have the same interests. I guess it justs really matters on the people.

Of course, sometimes opposittes attract because they like people who are different and therefore they can do different things with that person that the other person has never tried...but then people that have a lot in common usually get along because they can always agree on almost everything. Common intersts are what we build our friendships upon, and any romantic relationship worth a damn is build on a strong friendship. Opposites only attract in magnetism, electricity, and velcro.
