Additional info, added Monday May 2 2005, 9:16 pm: I guess I didn't really explain what I mean. I mean something we can pass from one year to the next. Like an item that goes to a person and gets passed down. Or I don't really know. But something that's different every year.. Want to answer more questions in the Hobbies category? little_ms_perfect answered Wednesday May 18 2005, 6:45 pm: A really great tradition that we do is chant. The last preformance really gets emotional when the student director of this years plays hands the leader position over to the student director of next years play. Any ways, the words are... {remember you say one line and thenthe ensamble repeats the line back. It practices diction and volume}
To sit in solemn silence
On a cold dark dock
In a pestilential prision
with a life long lock
awaiting the sensation
of a short sharp shock
from the cheap and chippy choppers
on the big black blocks
I know men of the ranks
And they're going to stay in the ranks
why?
I'll tell you why
Simply because they have the ability to get things done! [ little_ms_perfect's advice column | Ask little_ms_perfect A Question ]
xO_thAtS_hOTt_Ox answered Sunday May 8 2005, 9:43 pm: well, every year before my school play, we form a luck circle. before the show, we all get in a huge circle. one person starts it by squeezing the hand of the person on their left. then that person squeezes the hand of the person on their left, etc. its just a small special tradition we have, and it really helps to calm us down before the show, and focus. hope i helped!

Jellybellybabe answered Friday May 6 2005, 3:09 pm: Wicked fun!! Crazy warmups are tons of fun before every show and they help you get more in the mood. Also totally put fun and random stuff in the dressing rooms. Things like strobe lights and posters and fun stuff that. Have dance parties in the dressing rooms. Theres all sorts of stuff you can do and the more crazy and random...the better. Just have fun with it and teach all of the new actors about it and keep it going. Have fun!
rainbowsend answered Thursday May 5 2005, 4:46 pm: Well, you could buy a charm or ornament, or find one in the prop room/scene shop that never gets used. A friend of mine recieved a silver music note ornament with a letter- the letter explaining that this ornament has been passed down, and it's hers until she graduates, then she's got to add her name to the list and pass it on to a new singer, someone she thinks deserves it. You could try something like this.
Or is there a prop that could be used in multiple shows? I'm thinking like a purse or a box or something. Something that could be put in the set of almost any show, that from season to season the cast and crew would know it's there, but wouldn't really affect the show.
I guess the last suggestion I have would be to start a theater scrapbook. Make copies of all your favorite pictures, ticket stubs, programs, etc., and ask your friends and fellow cast members to contribute, too. [ rainbowsend's advice column | Ask rainbowsend A Question ]
ballerina04 answered Monday May 2 2005, 8:51 pm: You can have a cast party after your shows, if you don't do that already. Have pizza and that sort of thing, and if your play is taped, you can watch it. Maybe, if you know when the theater was opened, you can have a "birthday party" for celebrating the many plays and such. Hope I helped. ♥ Kristen [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]
passionate answered Monday May 2 2005, 7:50 pm: Maybe, every new year you can all get together and watch all the plays you've done and have a sort of party. It might be a little late, but you can still try. I hope I helped! [ passionate's advice column | Ask passionate A Question ]
