okay so my hair is black and i wanted to die it brown but whichever product i tried didnt work out.. only my roots turned out medium brown and then once it gets towards my tips.. it starts to fade into black. but what am i doing wrong?
twynelyne answered Tuesday May 3 2005, 1:24 am: your not doing anything wrong! Your hair is simply too dark and the store bought stuff isn't strong enough for you, or the particle brand you bought isn't strong enough. I recommend having it done by a pro or askingfor their advice on what the best storebought brand is for you hair. [ twynelyne's advice column | Ask twynelyne A Question ]
BARBiE_GiRL answered Monday May 2 2005, 5:06 pm: You aren't doing anything wrong except maybe you didn't leave it in long enough.... or it could be the coloring product you bought. Usually the more expensive ones work better but some cheaps ones work too. Get a coloring kit that is fit for the color you have now and the texture. :o) [ BARBiE_GiRL's advice column | Ask BARBiE_GiRL A Question ]
SoNuLiCiOuSsS answered Sunday May 1 2005, 10:00 pm: If you color your hair black... you can't color over it... im not sure why... all i know is it's not going to work... the reason why ur roots are tryin out brown is because that is your new growth... If you really want to color your hair brown you can do two things... either use hair color remover to remove the black out of your hair before you color it brown or bleach it before you color it brown... i would suggest hair color remover because bleach is going to dry out your hair... so just go to Sally's Beauty supply and ask one of the employee's for help... they will tell you what's best for your hair [ SoNuLiCiOuSsS's advice column | Ask SoNuLiCiOuSsS A Question ]
Teza answered Sunday May 1 2005, 5:11 pm: Your hair is probablly too dark. You have to bleach it first so when you dye your hair the color iwll turn out okay. If you dont want to cleach it try adding highlights first so your hair gets used to it. X0` [ Teza's advice column | Ask Teza A Question ]
BabyGurl_1503 answered Sunday May 1 2005, 4:37 pm: you should just go get it professionly done that way you won't keep spending you money on stuff that doesn't work and atleast that way you'll get it the way you want it faster. [ BabyGurl_1503's advice column | Ask BabyGurl_1503 A Question ]
mrs_radcliffe answered Sunday May 1 2005, 4:17 pm: At first why not trying adding a few highlights to your hair and once your hair gets used to it keep adding more until you have a full head. And that should work. if not go to there hair dressers and as for there advice.

redxroses answered Sunday May 1 2005, 2:05 pm: Your hair might be too dark for the color you picked. Sometimes hair needs to be bleached before it's actually changed to a lighter color. [ redxroses's advice column | Ask redxroses A Question ]
jazzy11 answered Sunday May 1 2005, 2:02 pm: that never happened to me just go to the salon they can do it. it probably cost just 5 dollars extra from buying the product from the store. [ jazzy11's advice column | Ask jazzy11 A Question ]
kooka-burra answered Sunday May 1 2005, 1:56 pm: Did you make sure that you bleached it? With your hair so dark, if you want to dye it any colour thats lighter then your going to have to bleach it. Go to the drugmart and find some colouring that comes with a bleaching kit. [ kooka-burra's advice column | Ask kooka-burra A Question ]
