Anorexia?

Question Posted Tuesday March 15 2005, 9:43 pm

Hey guys and gals, i was wondering if someone would be considered anorexic if they only ate once a day, or even nothing all day and maybe once the next?
Thanks

umm i dont think its anorexia yet but it could definatley go there if you dont eat more. you have to or it will start to take over and then it gets worse and you become ADDICTED. i had the same thought a few months ago and it took me halfway to hell. i wouldnt advise putting youself through that. chances are your thin enough and shouldnt worry about it. keep yourself active like get up and do something anytime you feel your fat. it helps.

It's probably not anorexia but it still is pretty unhealthy. Eating is very important for our bodies to stay functioning properly so skipping meals and going without food for one whole day is really serious. If you simply don't get hungry see a doctor to see what is causing you to lose your appetite and how to get it back.

I don't know if someone could be called anorexic exactly. Not a smart thing to do though. You'll trick your body into thinking it's starving and actually gain weight.Trust me. Been there done that.

I think it's just the beginning. But it's not good for you and it's not healthy. Eventually you're going to have to eat and when you do, you're just going to gain weight faster!!!

They wouldn't be considered anorexic but they would be eating too little. You don't just get anorexia from missing a few meals, anorexia is a serious disorder that affects your mental health as well as physical. If they have been eating like this for a long period of time then they could have an eating disorder and should go to a doctor but if they only did this once then it probably isn't anything too serious. Having said this, you shouldn't be eating that little.

Yeah that sounds worryingly like anorexia to me! that person really needs to see a specialist who can help them.
