BeautifulMadness answered Monday January 24 2005, 12:48 pm: Hey,
try some muscle rubs such as nurofen or radian, and try to relax it as much as possible - don't hold it stiff!
If you have acess to an infra red lamp (they are only about £9.99 to buy from Boots, Supadrug, any kind of big chemist store) that would probably really help too!
I hope it gets better soon!

jbdreamer answered Monday January 24 2005, 11:43 am: Try icing the soar spot. A bag of frozen peas works great because it can form around any spot on your body, and much cheaper then buying an ice pack. Leave the ice on for only 10 minutes at a time. Icing too long can damage muscles. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
Karen answered Monday January 24 2005, 11:10 am: I hate it when that happens to me too. To help get rid of the pain, you can use IcyHot (the cream that heats up and soothes the pain), you can take Advil, Tylenol, or Alieve. Also, if you take a hot bath and then rest, it will help. Hope I helped :)

Melanie4981 answered Monday January 24 2005, 9:06 am: Take a long hot bath with some deep heat/ralgex bath oil in.
This will relax the muscles a bit.
If it is really hurting then take a couple of Nurofen or other NSAID (Non-Steroid Anit-Inflammatory Drugs) These are great for muscular pain, and rub on some deep-heat cream (Not sure whether you get this as I'm not sure where in the world you are!! It's the heating cream you can get over the counter from any good chemist)
Chances are you have just overdone it shovelling but if it's not better in 48-72 hours then I would be inclined to see a Doctor!!
Erinn_the_bamf answered Monday January 24 2005, 8:49 am: After shoveling yesterday my back and next hurt too. Use a heating pad. Or put cream on it. If you can a back masuace (no idea how to spell it). Try doing yoga or meditating. We meditate in school sometimes at first it hurts your back but then it feels really good. I hope I helped! ♥ good luck [ Erinn_the_bamf's advice column | Ask Erinn_the_bamf A Question ]
