Question Posted Sunday January 23 2005, 6:34 pm

There are 16 people (all girls) who I'm getting valentines day gifts. What should I get them? Don't make it too expensive.

I'm all about the homemade gifts.

I don't know if it's appropriate for Valentine's Day, but if these gifts are for close friends it could be fun.

Bake giant cookies, and then buy cookie decorating stuff. Make each cookie personalized to look like the friend you're giving it to - glasses, hair colour, smile, etc.

You could even take a picture of all the cookies together (if this is for a group of friends) and give a copy to every person along with her cookie.

Go to nice chocolate shop, I don't know if you have a Thorntons where you are? Well go to any chocolate or sweet shop and get them a chocolate lolly each in the shape of a heart or with a message on. They're quite cheap and make a nice gift.

roses, or boxes of chocolate, which are the common valentines day present. a really nice thing is to get them all necklaces with their names engraved. that costs about.. 10 or 12 bucks for each necklace.

You can never go wrong with lotions and body sprays in my book. Fruits, flowers, that kind of thing. As long as they wear that kind of stuff and they're not allergic to it then you're good to go. Purses, make-up, hair stuff or chocolate can all be good choices. It all depends on the preferences and styles of the people you're getting gifts for though. Flowers don't hurt, either.
