It really depends on your taste, because acoustic songs are everywhere.
You can try Greensleeves by Mozart (classic)
Dust In The Wind - Kansas (prog, but ±, huh.)
Anything by Dashboard Confessional (emo, indie?)
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica (metal?)
Layla and Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton

I really like playing Ben Harper.

During his live shows he always does a set where it's just him and his acoustic guitar. Check out some of his stuff.

The Beatles - Yellow Submarine (the song, not album), Here Comes the Sun, Her Majesty, Michelle.

Chicago - Beginnings

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.

Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away, Hey Hey What Can I Do.

Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven

George Harrison - My Sweet Lord

Rolling Stones - Ruby Tuesday, My Girl, Backstreet Girl, Angie, Wild Horses.

The Who - Pinball Wizard, Sparks.

There are like, a billion more. Go to a music store and ask for an acoustic guitar songbook.

In all honesty, you can play almost any song as an acoustic number. Sometimes it is even more fun to take a song that isn't typically acoustic and play it as such, just to see how it sounds.

One of my favorites is "who will save your soul" by jewel. Also by jewel, "standing still" sounds good too.

disarm by smashing pumpkins, but thats kinda depressing. learn the intro to Giving Up Giving In by Catch 22, and Over the Hills and Far Far Away by Led Zeppelin, those 2 are good

Just about every James Taylor and Cat Stevens song works great with one guitar and you singing.

Some James Taylor songs you might know:
Fire and Rain
I'm your handyman
You've got a friend

Cat Stevens
Moonshadow
father and son

These are songs that are really geared toward what you want to do.

Also just about eveybody learns stairway to heaven by led zeppelin. It sounds amazing on accoustic maybe the best.

The beatles song black bird is great on accoustic and also maybe one of the best.

If you want something more contemporary than try Stone Temple Pilots I think the song is plush. It's the one where some of the lyrics are, "where you going till tomorrow, where you going with that mask I found, and I feel I feel when the dogs begin to smell her, etc..."

If you get the program guitar pro it has 10's of thousands of songs with tabs and shows you how to play them. It's the best guitar program ever written. Check it out.

Hope this was helpful. That's my advice.
