headaches
heu guys! any help would be appreciated... for the past couple months i've been getting really bad headaches, and it hurts to look at light or hear noises and stuff. Well I think they might be migraines. I try to tell mom but she won't listen. Is there anything i can do at home to make them better? and medicine doesn't work...

I've been getting migranes for a feew years now. They're awful aren't they? If Advil and Asprin don't work, try calling your pediatrician directly instead of going through your mom. You can tell him how you feel and he may convince your mom to take you in. There are also some over the counter drugs that probably won't be amazing, but they will dull the pain a bit.
If none of that works, you can always try my method:
1) Put some comfy clothes on. You don't want to be restricted or uncomfortable.
2) Lie is bed with the covers
3) Take an eye mask to get rid of the light
4) Close your door for the quiet
5) Place a hot washcloth over your eyes
6) Try to sleep it off!

it could be a sinus infection..i get those sometimes!!!! just rest when you get those..and take tylenol..it will help

Ask the school nurse-- and if you do have migraines, she or he will contact your mom.

Well what you should do is drink lots of water and see what happens and if nothing happens just wright back and i will give you more advice.

wow that must really be painful..sorry :/.. um try a stronger pain killer(excedrin is pretty good,try that), that may help take the edge off.. then try putting ice(just like a simple ice pack) on your head when you feel the pain start, and lie down until the worst is over with. sorry youre in so much pain! wish i could help more! good luck, ~*stefnie

I get really bad headaches too. What I do is go in my room turn off all the lights and go to sleep. Also you might try taking advil (the gelly green ones), it helps a lot.

Try sleeping and resting-like don't watch alot of tv and stuff like that!

Try getting more sleep,if that doesnt help you may have something worse, than you think and could need a doctors opinion.But u never know,you could just need some prescripton medicine or lay off the computer screens and tv,till your headaches go away.

well if your mom wont contact a doctor then go to your school nurse about it and mabey she will tell your mom because if shes not beliveing you mabey she will believe an adult and untill then when you get these head aches my dad has 800 milligram ibprofen i kno meds wont work but mabey it will help and dont listen to loud music or look at light it will only make it worse i hope i helped please rate

Maybe you have a vision problem. Girls who get a lot of headaches may have vision problems. Take an eye check, or take advil if it isn't a vision thing.

yes...that is definatley a migrane...you should go to the doctor and talk to your mom about it over and over...there is medications...tylenol??cool pad on your fore head...and turn off the lights when you have one and be around as little noise possible..

Drink plenty of water, and stay off caffine. I have an eye pillow that is filled with lavendar, and I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. It is a great soother for headaches. I got mine at World Market, but I am sure you can find them online.

HEY!! I have the same problem. I had the same headache for a whole two weeks and I thought that it was a migraine and I experienced every symptom that you have. I told my boyfriend's mom about this and she said that it was stress related. Are there any big thigscoming up that you are excited or worried about? Take a bath with bath salts that have special anti-stress chemicals in them. I did that and it helped. I also took Exedrin (or however you spell that) and it took my headaches away. The samething was happening to me. My eyes were sensitive to light and everysound made my head pound even worse. Also it felt like i could feel my heary beating through my head and it hurt really bad. I ended up in the hospital because of it. But they found out it was nothing major. It was just something called a severe tension headache. Try taking ibuprofen. It helped alot. Well, hope i could help. kelly!

Please go to a doc immediately. tell your dad or go to a doctor yourself.Im sure your mom will understand.this is really important. you must go because it might be something serious even though its probably just growing pains.

Hey, I know how you feel. Migranes can suck majorly, and people who do not suffer from them tend not to understand how sucky they can be. I know you said medicine doesn't work, but I HIGHLY suggest either of these pills or a combination of them. Try: Furenol or Imetrex
They are both the best on the market. I think you should gert both though and tke the Furenol when you feel a headache coming to head it off at the past. Once it becomes a full blown migrane try the Imitrex. It comes in pill form, shots, and nasal spray.(See your doctor for a perscription) Some things to remember, put one of those heating pads on your head (the kind with rice in them) Try to eat something like a cracker and if you feel like you are going to throw up, go for it..it will make you feel better..SLEEP IN THE DARK when you are having one.
