It really helps on your flexibility, and building muscles, which will make you lose fat. So yes, yoga is the perfect workout to lose fat, but you will enjoy it as well.

Some people store more fat when they are stressed and many people eat as a way to cope with stress... The motions of Yoga will help with thte stress problems. Also you are moveing about while practicing yoga, so you will burn more calories doin it than, say sitting at your backside in front of your TV or your computer... There are no calories, carbs, or anything in it to harm your chances of losing weight. Drink away. Although if you drink a lot of water, you will pee a lot, haha.
