Pump yourself up and get excited. Reread any information that has been given to you prior to your audition. Warm up your voice if you are required to sing and stretch if you are required to dance so that you feel ready to do your best. Dress in comfortable clothes but clothes that will make you look somewaht like the character you are trying for. If you are given any lines before the audition, memorize and work on your delivery. If the audition is a cold read, just don't be nervous and be ready for anything! I'm sure you will do great! ♥

I am in love with theater! I could live my life out on stage!! and it's GREAT that you want to particapate in your school play..

SOme things that are DEAD IMPORTANT that will make you stand out are:

#1 Projection- There are going to be rows and rows and rows etc. filled with people with sucky hearing, great hearing, or there might be people who even have to turn their hearing up to 100, ok, and they ALL nead to hear you! If they are sleeping, YOU need to be the one to wake them up and get into the story. If the director ( or who ever is doing your audition) cant hear you, or their clothes dont blow off them ( GOD hope that it wont!) then you wont stand out and have a better chance off not mking it...sorry but yeah..its true!!

#2 Artuculation- Not only do people nead to hear you,but they need UNDERTSAND you. I mean, whats the point of hearing anything if you cant even decipher what is crawling out of your mouth! A good excersize to help you with this is going
"OO-EE-OO-EE-OO-EE..." over and over again. Its ok if you friends think you are a fire engine because they will be able to understand you when you apologise for being on crack or what ever :)..jk

#3 Be the charater!- very very very important thingy. If you cant feel what the character is feeling, then people with fall asleep drooling and then the person that they are drooling on will jump up screaming(!!!!) and every one else's attention will be lifted off of you and then...all is lost :(

#4 facial expressions- Last but no way in hell is it least! If you don't look like youre CRYING, or you dont look HAPPY SAD ANGRY EMBARSSED RETARTED ITCHY NAUSEOUS and so on, then they wont leave like they just saw the BESTEST play ever in the history of life!!

GOOD LUCK!!

SMILE! its not the end of your life but the start of something short and fun. who care's what they think, in 5 years you'll never see them again anyway right? leave them with a bang and don't hold back. don't be afraid to laugh at yourself either, they'll laugh with you rather than at you.

Take a deep breath, and dont worry about it. Dont worry about the people who are watching you. If you have to look directly at them, look straight above their heads. Not the, "hey look, your hair is sticking up" kinda stare, but just stare directly above their heads and do what you have to do. Good luck on your audition!

Just practice in front of a mirror, or in front of someone you won't be afraid to practice in front of. After a while, you should be able to overcome your stage fright. Or you could just not try out, haha. But I don't think you want to, so just practice a lot.

Practice your lines! Just relax when you get up in front of the judges and pretend that they aren't there! Hope I helped :)

Two things:

1. Practice, practice, practice.
2. Most of the time, they are not only judging how well you memorize lines, but how you present yourself and how confident you are.

Just remember that even if you say lines wrong or sing slightly off-key, if you show that you have confidence and can learn easily, you could get the part anyway.
