am I fat?

Question Posted Friday December 3 2004, 1:56 pm

Okay I am a female an I am 15 yrs old. I have always been rather skinny but I moved over a yr ago and since I moved I have gained a few pounds. I am still rather skinny, but now I have hips and I dont like it. I am about 5'6-5'7 and I way about 130lbs. My stomach is flat, and I have long legs, its just my hips. I am not comfortable with my body right now.I try and do sit ups and I walk and run alot but it doesnt seem to be helping much. I am really pretty, but I just want to lose a few pounds to feel better about myself. What is a good way to lose my hips and a few pounds? Does anyone kno of a good diet I could go on that does not involve too many calories. What do I do to lose weight?

hey sweetie, im glad to hear that you dont think that your fat and that you need to lose weight. lol but i totally understnad what you're saying. the weight gain can be due to a. your move(i know it doesnt seem so, but its a proven fact that getting use to something drastic like that can cause stress which can lead to a little weight gain). and b. your age. you are at the age where your body is going through its changes. i know cuz im there. lol. but try doing windsor polaties (i dont know the correct spelling) but its the best thing ever! its workout tapes that tone your muscles the right way. it really does work. i have a muscle condition and it really helps me out in both areas. good luck hun~

Real women have curves!!! Hips are normal. Your probably won't ever lose them no matter what you do. I think your skinny truthfully. You don't need to lose weight it's not needed. Understand that not everyone needs to look like a stick. Guys like variety and want a different kind of guy. I mean for the girls that are sticks more power to them, but don't worry about what you look like. As long as you eat right and take care of yourself, you'll be fine.

well first of all the key to losing weight is eat less unhealthy foods and more exercise so that you are losing more calories than gaining... also since you are 15 years old it is all right to be thinking that because you are still going through puberty and that's what happens when girls go through puberty..

Hun, you are not fat! It is perfectly normal to be 5'7 and weigh 130lbs. If you exercise normally and eat a balanced diet you should be a healthy person. Don't let your body lower your self-esteem. Guys love curves! I mean look at Beyonce and Brittney Spears they viewed as some of the sexiest woman in America and they have curves. Please don't hurt yourself and stay confident!

easy: stop eating all together and run 948579045 miles a day. sound ridiculous? yeah, well, so does thinking that at 5'7 tall that 130 punds is fat. dont worry about it. why dont you like hips? thats why they made *Hip Hugger Jeans*..durr..so women could show off their curves. just maintain a healthy weight and you might find that youre curves are actually very appealing. have a wonderful day. ~*stefanie

Gurl you should love your hips, but if you wanna lose weight without doing exercise just eat smaller meals. Don't go for seconds and you can skip a meal once in a while. Just don't go anorexia or anything like that. It's bad. Maybe you could go to the gym once in a while. You are actually at the perfect weight for a 15 year old. So to me you are not fat at all.

You are just growing into your body, and I really don't see any need to worrying over having hips. Curvy women are often times the most attractive women out there. If you like media and popculture, look at the females that we often pin as "sexy". They all have hips, and they are all attractive.
But if you want to lose weight, schedule a meeting with a local dietitian at the hospital and they can give you helpful hints on a diet that would be perfect for you. Excercise and lots of water is always extremely important in a healthy and active lifestyle.

hun, you're 15, and going through puberty. you're hips aren't fat...that's just what happens when you go through puberty-you're body changes, you get hips, and you put on a few pounds. and losing weight won't help you lose your hips, and there's nothing that you could have done earlier to make yourself not get them. plus-having hips gives your body a curve, and guys LOVE that...so keep that in mind. but if you're still not comfortable, just try and eat healthy, exercise everyday, and then you'll stay in shape and lose all the weight that you can. but don't be uncomfortable with your body-caues you're stuck with it for the rest of your life. you'll get used to it too-i promise
