I used to live in Florida.

Just the fact that you are fom CA make you cool already. Be yourself..and get into some kind of group or club right awy to meet people. They will want to know what CA was like..clothes music etc..so get ready to talk!

I moved several times as a teen..it was hard..but the easiet was to join something to get to know people.

i know exactly how you feel! i moved 3 years ago and i had no idea what i was going to do to make friends. all you have to do is be yourself! that way youll make friends who like YOU! not some act! people will be attracted to your original personality and maybe youll find out that theres a kid in your class who plays the same sport as you! or maybe is interested in the same subjects. just show your true personality and dont worry! trust me! good luck in FL!!!

oh my gosh!! thats exactly what happened to me! i moved frum cali (where i wus born) to florida and i loved it there. well, i didn't love the moving part, but once we were there and i had made some friends i loved it. in most communities each house has their own pool and the water is really warm there at the beach. anyways (to answer your question) the best way to make friends is to introduce yourself to people. its usually easier to talk to people who are by themselves at the moment so if you get to know them they can introduce you to their friends. explain to them that you're new. a lot of people like to talk to sumone new and show them the ropes...its kinda fun for them i guess...but the only thing you have to worry about is that you don't get to nervous to say hi. also people in FL are very sarcastic so don't be offended if they say sarcastic jokes and stuff....they don't mean any harm, after a while you might even start being sarcastic yourself! :P

Just be yourself!! Try to subtly talk to people you think are nice. Say things like I love your shirt, where did you get it? or Your hairdo is awesome! always compliement people. they love it. Also ask them about themsleves. most people like talking about themselves!!

Hope this helps!!

just be a confident person, if these new people see you then they won't know what to exspect, plus if you are going to a new school you can be anything that you want know one knows you so take that advantage

ill tell you right off the bat...dont act like someone you arent. its like the old saying goes "you only make a first impression once." also...talk with random people at lunch and ask if you can sit with them...most likely theyd let you and just ask them to show you the ropes of the school...if they blow you off...then they werent worth it. its all up to you...you are the one who is gonna have to make a move on making new friends...no one is gonna walk you around holding your hand...its all up to you......i hope that helped

ICE11BLUE answered Thursday November 25 2004, 8:59 pm:
Scope out someone you could talk to and just be kinda like, "Hey, I'm from Cali, what do you guys like to do after school and on the weekends and stuff around here?" If you said that to a bunch of different people you'll get a lot of different answers and maybe some plans along with it!! Just an idea, hope I was helpful:)

When you go to school try approaching a group of people that look friendly and go from there. If you make the first move then it will be a lot easier to meet people.

Just be yourself. Be outgoing and funny..but just don't talk too much that people think you are annoying. Act normal, and don't be nervous. Good luck..and have fun in California..you're so lucky! :P
