ceece answered Wednesday November 17 2004, 1:30 pm: Well, firstly, take up all of your decorative stones and take out all of the weeds you can. Invest in a really good weedkiller and spread it through the soil, and then to stop the weeds from re-growing, you can put sheets of dark plastic or sheets of newspaper on top of the soil to stop light getting to it, so weeds wont grow. Recover with your decorative stones and your garden will be beautiful! Hoorah! [ ceece's advice column | Ask ceece A Question ]
mysticpixie05 answered Wednesday November 17 2004, 9:53 am: You can go out and buy some chemical weed killer shit and spray it on them to kill them or you can go out on all fours and pull them out by hand. Have fun! [ mysticpixie05's advice column | Ask mysticpixie05 A Question ]
FernGully answered Wednesday November 17 2004, 9:49 am: Well, you can go out and pull them out by hand OR you can buy some chemicals to kill them (here, this is now illegal.)
If you are going to pull them out by hand, please remember to pull slowly but firmly and get as much of the roots out as possible. Don't just yank out the green part on the surface because it will grow back in no time at all. If you get a fair chunk of the roots there won't be a weed there for a much longer time. It is secretly something I kind of enjoy doing, because it makes such a drastic change in the appearance of the stones or garden you are ridding of weeds.
