I'm a cheerleader myself, and we do hip flexer drills. you sit on the floor in a stradle and do 10 leg lifts with your right, then your left not letting your leg touch the ground. Next your gonna want to put your arms out in a "T" while still sitting in a stradle and lift both legs off the ground while NOT leaning back. It's a lot of ab work to keep your back straight, and it will hurt at first but your toe touches will be amazing!!! As for rolling your hips back, they just mean to have your knees turned back/behind you, and probably POINT YOUR TOES lol :) i really hope that by stretching and strengthening your hip flexers you will reach your goal of a high toe touch :) GOOD LUCK

alright my toe touches usedd to suck and this is really good advice
alright when they say roll your hips, (this is gonna sound retarted) but try to push your crotch to the ceiling and your toes to the wall behind you.
practice doing a toetouch and pushing your hips up like i told you and landing on your bed or another squishy thing.
and...ALWAYS KEEP YOUR CHEST UP...YOU WONT BEND YOUR KNEES THAT WAY AND YOU JUMP WILL BE HIGHER.
LiLnSbAbY123 answered Monday November 15 2004, 9:08 pm: Ok so when you are just sitting down watching tv or doing hw, w/e, just sit in stradle position a little bit farther every day so your legs get used to it. That way when you jump your legs will just do it. Also, when your do a toe touch keep your back straight and use your stomach mussles to pull your legs up. What i mean is don't lean foward trying to reach for your toes b/c your body will get used it and your toe touch will get worse. And i no this is a bad idea but, when your sitting in class or at the dinner table try and sit upright like with good posture so that when you jump your back will be straight. I'm doing cheerleading now so i no wat u're going through. And also (i no its a lot) make sure u REALLY stretch your crotch mussles before youo start jumping. Hope I helped, plz rate me.

If you've been streching HARD everyday & practing the jump alot then u shuld have it. Well, just try like standing up & going from up to the ground into your front split & if u know what chinese roll-thrus that's a VERY helpfull thing 2 do. PuReLuVeR143 answered Monday November 15 2004, 6:46 pm: Hey im a cheerleader too and something you can do is jump roping every day for about 2-3 mins.. Itll REALLY help you jump higher..It sounds cheesy but I sware it worked so good for me..Also, when you are prepping to jump [u know when u clap 1 2, high V 3 4, jump 5 6, land 7 8, start over 1.] try bouncing while u are counting to get ur momentum up. Thatll really help you too. Do maybe 20 side kicks for ur left and right leg everyday for about 1-2 weeks. Or u can try having some1 spot u while u do a toe touch. Meaning have the stand behind u and hold your upper body up so you have extra help in jumping high and getting your legs up..

PiNkTiNkGiRl22 answered Monday November 15 2004, 6:30 pm: Hey don't worry we're not all cheerleaders!
LOL.
I'm trying out for varsity cheer @ my school in a couple of years myself! I have never even thought of cheer but I realized I have really good jumps. What I did to work on my toe touch was to stretch everyday for a couple of minutes. Then I did the splits as far as I could for a minute and everyday I'd try and go down even lower till I hit the ground. Trust me, the more overload you put on yourself you can always improve! But if you keep the same pace, you wont improve...so PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT in this case. Hehe!
Hope that helped!
