Hives are raised, often itchy red welts on the surface of the skin. They are usually an allergic reaction to food or medicine.
*Hives may be uncomfortable, but they generally are harmless and disappear on their own.* ]
As I understand it, hives are tiny pockets of inflammation caused by an allergic response to something. In this case, you are likely allergic to penicyllin - something to be tested for, as the allergy, should it get worse, can be fatal. If you are concerned about the presence of the hives, take a benadryl - but no matter what, inform your doctor of this reaction - it might be necessary to pull you off the medicine and have you take something else. Medicine allergies should NOT be taken lightly. ]
You are probably allergic to this medicine. I am allergic to the same thing. Find new medicine and don't use that medicine again. Go to a doctor for the hives he'll tell you what to do. ]
