SODAS! I took up Mountain Dew and I put on alot of weight drinking it and I tried to stop it but its like going threw withdrawl. I get headaches and everything, I throw up and my stomach hurts and this always happens when I stop drinking it. I'm starting school soon and mountain dew wont be available as it will if I were home. What can I do?
xo_dream answered Sunday August 29 2004, 4:06 am: It's just because you're used to the caffiene + stuff, and now your body isn't getting it. It'll get better eventually. It would be easier if you just gradually cut down on how much you were drinking. [ xo_dream's advice column | Ask xo_dream A Question ]
Rei answered Wednesday August 25 2004, 11:12 am: mountain dew is a fantastic drink, but it rather addictive i know, theres a certain content in it thats equal to caffeine and maybe its the absence of this caffeine thats causing u to throw up, but the best advice is, go see a doctor NOW! hope the little tip on the caffeine thingy helps lol and take loads of care! ps, much appreciated if u could rate me thanx! -Rei [ Rei's advice column | Ask Rei A Question ]

beatlovedown answered Saturday August 21 2004, 6:19 pm: Whoa! Okay enough with the soda. Do you know what soda does to your body? Besides all the weight you gain, it all leads to holes in your stomach. And other terrible things. You need to find somethign else to drink, this may become a serious issue if you continue it. Try bringing mountain dew with you in a bottle each day to school, and try to take it one step at a time. Try to lower your amount of dew each day. Can lead to illnesses. =(
0rangeTape answered Saturday August 21 2004, 12:12 pm: if you drink a lot of soad and then you dont drink it anymore that could be the cause of the headaches and stuff cuz you have caffine everyday and your so used to it and not having it can cause a headache but just try drinking less soda for a couple days and then a few less than that for a couple days so you get used to not having as much caffine and stuff and if you dont have to have alot you should be fine while your at school [ 0rangeTape's advice column | Ask 0rangeTape A Question ]
blackmamba answered Saturday August 21 2004, 1:30 am: wow... mountain dew withdrawals. maybe you should enroll in rehab for the m.d. lol that pop is especially bad for you: it rots your teeth faster than any other pop, and it eats your stomach and esophagus lining away. and.. you gained weight! that should be an incentive to stop drinking it to lose weight. drink water instead.. its so much better! kennyscowgirl answered Saturday August 21 2004, 12:02 am: Im the same way! Well I dont get the painful head aches But I can relate some what. Any who you cant just stop completley it has to happen over time. Try drinking other things like water. Yeah I know that souds so dull "drink water" but its true. Like drink some mountain dew then a glass of water then some more mountain dew.... Then start eliminating the mountain dew even more. I finally got myself to stop drinking ROOT BEER everyday haha and I did lose a few pounds. I didnt think by stop drinking so much pop would acctally take a few pounds off! I hope I helped! mshonest4eva answered Friday August 20 2004, 11:53 pm: decline, but dont totally stop. Your reactions are as if to drugs. If you usually had 5 a day, go to 3 or 4 for two weeks, 3 or 2 the next two weeks and so on. If you still have major problems, hony, u need to go see a doctor and get the issue solved. Cold turkey doesnt always help!!
AquamarineRose answered Friday August 20 2004, 11:50 pm: It's a caffine headache. You got your body addicted to caffine so much now it craves it.The best you can do is slowly try to get yourself off of it.I don't know how many you drink a day but try to cut back each day until your body isn't so dependent on the caffine. Karen answered Friday August 20 2004, 11:26 pm: Start drinking less and less of Mountain Dew each day so your body can get adjusted to it. After that, you can still drink a little bit of Mountain Dew and more water. Hope I helped :) [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
SammyPie answered Friday August 20 2004, 11:24 pm: My suggestion is, instead of stopping yourself from drinking it at a complete halt, slowly get yourself to drink less. That way your body can adjust to the new amounts and possible you can ween yourself off of it. This takes patience, but it might just work. I hope I helped. Good luck. IronyHelps answered Friday August 20 2004, 11:23 pm: Just drink water in it's place. I hear that works really well. Just drink bottles of water where you would normally drink Mountain Dew. [ IronyHelps's advice column | Ask IronyHelps A Question ]
