Question Posted Monday August 9 2004, 9:21 pm

im starting 8th grade soon and im sooo stressed. i have to get all a's as always...i have to get into this privite school next year which means i have to apply and do well this year. i also have to do ballet..pointe..guitar..the play..and more..how do i take the stress off?

i know it sucks but you might have to quit something. you gotta have fun. your starting 8th grade. alot of ppl get stressed out for different things then that but they just make themselves stressed out like what they need to wear to field day or something. lol. well if you dont think you can quit something try and write down a scedule to schedule all your time. make sure to fit fun somewhere in there.

make time in your day and just take things one at a time...in your free ime just relax and take it easy. But when its time to work then just put forth 110% and you will be fine!!!!

that IS alot of stuff to have to worry about. maybe you should drop some of them. now, about the stress, do something that u love to do, not any of those things tho, and so it normally, it might take your mind of things. if u ever get really super stressed out, then just take deep breaths and just relax for about 10min. tell me how things go!

Well what you deffinetly need to do is CALM DOWN...and another thing is maybe you should quit some of your after school programs to have more time to study but remember have fun dont worry as much!

Why are you doing all these activities - are they things you really care about, or things your parents think you should be doing?

If your parents are pushing you to do too much, you should sit down and let them know how you're feeling.

If you are the one who wants to do all these things, you're going to have to see how the year goes. It sounds like you are already pretty stressed, and the answer for you will probably be to focus on only half of those things. Pick what you like best and stick with it - you'll have to prioritize.

You can't be perfect at 30 different things; the more your attention is spread out, the less proficient you'll be in each area. Figure out what's most important to you, what you really LOVE, and then spend your time on it. It won't be stressful because you won't have to be thinking about a zillion other things at the same time.

i know what you mean - i'm an overachiever 2 lol...you just have to realize that little mistakes won't kill you and don't take life too serious or you'll never get out alive! lol use your activities as an outlet for your stress - when i did gymnastics it was like a whole different world with different problems of its own, but it was a nice escape from school life

my 8th grade year was soo stressfull too!!! worrying about a social life, grades, homework, and other activities....it gets sooo tough...if ur soo stressed out then put one of ur activities on hold...its impossible to do everything at once and NOT go crazy...so yes i do suggest quiting one of your activities...at least until schools over.

at least once a month make a ALL ABOUT ME DAY ( it should be on a weekend or sumthim ) plan for it all month and get the right stuff like get up in the mornin go for a run or something like that then plan to eat health for the day (exsept for chocolate!) then do facials and peticurs u can do this wit a friend too for facials if u wanna get rid of black heads put a coat of olive oil on the nose and the let it sit for like a min. then put a hot towel on ur face then wash it wit ur regualr face wash it sound wierd but it cool and do yogo gets rid of stress big time

dont stress about anything. do what you want to do, not what you need to do. if all these activities are stresing you out, then you dont NEED to do shit but what makes you happy. and if doing all that doesnt make you happy, then dont.

Truth be it. Listen to calming music more. I'd just say that b/c it lifts some stress off. And let your parents know your doing your best and you want to really do your best but you cant be pushed too far. Keep an agenda and stay exactly on schedule. Study when your supposed too. You cant possibly not make it if you do your homework and study the way and the time the teachers tell you to. Its hard, it sucks, and it will never be EASY... but you'll stick it through. don't over work yourself this year take it easy if your not feelin up 2 do somethin than dont do it!! This year will be special for you cuz ur now leavin ur old and going to a new one!! take it easier and enjoy it cuz believe me it goes by fast!! :)

Stress i know this its hard to get off but one thing you have to do is stay calm talk to people write down what you feel cause if you leave it all bottled inside then your going to freek out just learn how to generate things and just talk to people
