For the past few months, I have had a very uncomfortable pain around my tailbone.
It's mostly when I'm sitting a certain way. And I'm not entirely sure why and when it started but it bothers me.
I'm afraid this could mean something awful. My uncle told me that it could be cancer and, although he was 'joking', I was scared. What if it is?
Anyways. I'm afraid to go to a Doctor because I'm very uncomfortable with people touching me and, of course, he'll have to see my...butt. (Yes, I said butt...XD) Anyways...It makes me really uncomfortable to have someone, even a professional, touch me. But I'm afraid that if I don't go to the doctor, and it's something serious, I'll end up getting really sick and/or dying.
Thank you, in advance, for your help. This may seem silly, I know. I understand that I will get a lot of 'Just go to the freaken doctor, dumbass' but...it's really not quite that simple.
SweetStarx89 answered Wednesday August 11 2004, 8:36 pm: Hey. Hun i get back pain sometimes from sitting infront of the computer alot. trying walking around more and a little less sitting. i kno it could be hard for being in school but have your mom write a note that once in a while for a week or so that you need to stand up and see how it goes...if the pain goes away then you are fine but stop sitting that certain way that makes it hurt and see how it goes. drink a lot of milk cuz it boosts ur bones and should help. (it worked for my back) and if it still hurts then have it checked out. it's better being touched then to kno that you are dying yah kno? if u need anything else just drop in the inbox. Take Care..Hope I Helped! x3 SweetStar. [ SweetStarx89's advice column | Ask SweetStarx89 A Question ]

You don't have a choice! Ask your parent/guardian to maybe change (if u have a man doctor) to a girl. I hope you're okay! Rate me please!

kevin1986 answered Monday August 9 2004, 2:23 am: Cancer of the tailbone? No you can't have cancer of a bone. If you're uncomfortable with a doctor seeing your ass,how do you feel when you go to the gynocologist or if you're a guy,a urologist. They don't look at you ass sweety, they look at your front. You probably injured it some kind of way and you really do need to put aside this fear of doctors and see one. You'll be fine and your uncle was just joking about cancer. xo_Meg_ox answered Monday August 9 2004, 12:40 am: if it's a muscle pain, then you can ice it or put heat on it...do you do sports? this may not be your problem at all, but i did gymnastics and i had really bad backpains and when i went to the doctor he found a tiny crack in my lower back from bending my back so much...going to a doctor isn't that bad tho and i'm sure you can ask them not to touch you ~ the main thing you'll have to do will be putting on a smock thing so you can get an x-ray taken...also, doing back and stomach strength may relieve some of the pain..........feel better! Mystique answered Monday August 9 2004, 12:25 am: Dear 'My Tailbone'...
More than likely you have bruised or fractured your tailbone,...this coud be caused by an incident as serious as falling down the stairs to something as simple as bruising it while wrestling around. in either case there is little to be done for this and it is very painful. Most likely you will just haftawait it out...depending on the injury it may take anywhere from 1-4 weeks. Have you had any accidents lately that could acount for this? If not and the pain persists ore than 2 weeks you should definatly see about it. On a better note as comfort goes there are 'donut' pillows for sale...WalMart has them for under 10 bucks...its a pillow with hole in te middle (hence the name) lol anyway if you use that to sit on it will allow it to heal much quicker as there wont be any weight placed on it. Good Luck! hope this helps! btw I fell off monkey bars when I was younger (some 15yrs ago) and shattered my tailbone so I feel your pain!! Good luck! hope ta hear fro ya! :) [ Mystique's advice column | Ask Mystique A Question ]
hErEtoheLp answered Monday August 9 2004, 12:24 am: Alright, I forgot the name of it, but it's probably a case where you cracked your tailbone, or bruised it. When you go to the doctor they're going to have to take some x-rays, if it is something like that, I really can't remember what it's called..but they might have to do surgery on it. You NEED to go to the doctor. You won't die I don't think, but you're going to be in extreme discomfort for a long time, and can possibly create further problems, If you ask me it again in my inbox, I'll have the awnser to what it's called for you.. I just have to go look it up. Let me know if you need more information. [ hErEtoheLp's advice column | Ask hErEtoheLp A Question ]
