Well, I'm new here...actually, I only signed up so that I could ask you this question. I am a singer and I need to know if you know how to make your voice stronger and sound better on high notes because all my high notes start cracking up. Thank you!
also, you should do breathing excercizes, because breathing gives you support when you sing, and without support it's hard to hit good notes. do things like breathe in for 2 beats, hold for four, and hiss it out for 4-8. practice holding your breath, go swimming, don't ever smoke. also, warm up before you try to hit the high notes. lastly, the most important thing is not to try to sound like britney spears. if your throat is sore when you finish singing, it means you are hurting your voice, and your voice can be permanantly scarred (it's called getting a node: it happened to christina aguilera). so don't use your throat to sing... use breathing.

I mean, I'm a coloratura soprano - I can hit notes my flute can't play - but I have a friend who's a contralto. She feels more comfortable sitting in the bottom of the staff or under it than in it.
Whatever you do, do NOT push your voice. If your high notes aren't working, ease into them, using scales.
Make sure your throat's relaxed when you sing. If it's not, you'll strain your voice and ruin it.
Your throat should never hurt while singing. If it does, you need to relaaaaaax.
I really reccomend you take voice lessons. Also join choir in school and let the director decide which section to put you in. Don't aim for soprano - you could seriously ruin your voice if you push it.
I hope this helped!

SammyPie answered Friday August 6 2004, 4:09 pm: I am a singer also, and heres my bit of advice. You just have to keep on strengthening your voice. Drink a lot of water to keep your throat hydrated. And also, biggest piece of all, don't push your voice on a note that you know you can't reach yet. Your voice will get strong enough to reach those notes in due time. PuReLuVeR143 answered Friday August 6 2004, 3:54 pm: I think that maybe you should take the classical approach by training with a teacher that has you sing opera. This is because opera is the center of singing, just like piano is the center of instruments..Opera will teach you how to support, how to stand, and hit those high notes clearly and beautifully. find one asap!!!
hope i helped,
love kristin
