Everyone starts at different times... u could start when ur 11, 12, 13, or 14 its normal and ok... I kno this sounds weird but talk to ur mom about it. Shes been through it and she will kno. Talk to her dont believe wut ur friends say... sometimes they cant be true at all. *Jennifer*

well you only get your peroid when you have 17% body fat. i think, thats what my PE/Health teacher told us. So maybe your less then 17% with all that exersizing.

everybody gets their period at a different time. it doesnt have anything to do with danceing or exerciseing alot, it just has to do with when your body is ready to starte having your period.

Well I really dont think that your period hasnt started becuase you exersice alot, that just doesnt seem right!Ask your mom how old she was when she started and then give or take a year! You could be one of the lucky ones thhat doesnt start early in life! =) Its not as cool as all the new girls think it is,its a pain in the rear! But I think it just might have something to do with your age, your not ready! But if you and your mom find it REALLY weird that you havent started then maybe try going to a gyno!She/he can help you the most!
Hope I helped and everything turns out ok!

Geez girl dance a lot lol. Thats cool! But when you're active or athletic (Like you are) that makes you start your period later or even lets you skip some periods too. So nothing is wrong with you don't worry! It just happens to athletic girls! Keep on dancin!! =P

well it could be from heredity( when did your mom first get hers?) , but heavy excersize definently is a big one when it comes to not getting your period. its good that you are eating ( and healty too - yay!) but you shouldn't be in a rush to get it. its really REALLY not something to look forward to.

S_C answered Monday July 12 2004, 1:12 pm:
yea it's part of the reason

u also have to EAT! not so much as to where ur overweight, but u hafta eat, i was aneorexic for a while, and my DR said that had effect on y i haven't gotten my period, well why i didn't have my period, but now that i've started to eat again...
anyways, it also depends on ur age

if ur 16 or older, SEE A DOCTOR, but when ur really active, it has an effect

Lizzy answered Monday July 12 2004, 12:34 pm:
no, it doesn't. If you want your period to start the only way to do it is make sure you eat enough food. If you dance a lot then you should eat a lot. But don't binge, (i dance every day for two hours and eat more than anyone. It doesn't make you fat!!!) just make sure you eat a lot of meat.

MFS answered Monday July 12 2004, 12:06 pm:
as others have pointed out, stress can off-set the start of your period. This stress can either be mental stress, or physical stress in the form of high levels of physical exertion. During the volleyball season, my wife's period would be very irregular, skipping months at a time. Same went for the girls we coached later on (oh, they things I got to hear on the bus... ;) ) So, in a sense, it is nothing to worry about - but on the other hand, your period effects your body's ability to intake and use calcium as well as a few other things - make sure you're getting enough calcium in your system while you're period is being skipped. Like always, talk to a doctor about this, but you aren't in any danger.

GC_rox_my_sox answered Monday July 12 2004, 11:09 am:
Yes, it's very normal for dancers to get their periods late. 12 hours a week is a lot, and dancers usually don't have much body fat, and if you don't have enough body fat, you won't get your period. In a couple of years, you will have enough and you will start. Don't worry about it.
